In January 2013, we released the first verision of Collamark.com ("Collamark","us","we","our","Service"). Collamark is designed to help people easily mark the best sentences on webpage, and one year after it was born, we add a Privacy Policy to it, for we think it's worth more heart in it, and we will make it better

Our newest Privacy Policy is effective from 2014.2.17

Our Privacy Policy explains why and how we collect, use, share and protect information in relation to any service from Collamrk, and what you can do about this information collection and usage.
By using Collmark(including all the apps, browser extensions, mail services) you understand and agree that we are providing a platform for you to quote content on webpages(including related info, such as page title and urls), and share with others, along with your thoughts or opinions. This means that other Users can search, see, use or share the content you share publicly, consistent with the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use( which can be found at: http://collamark.com/terms)
Our Privacy Policy applies to all visitors, users, and others who access Collamark.

Information We Collect

We collect folloing types of information
Information you provide us directly

Your username, password and e-mail address when you register for Collamark account.
Accout setting info, including language preference, style preferences, .etc. Which helps you have a better experience
Quoted text, page url, page title and your comment when you add a new mark on somewebpage.(a mark means you make a quote).
Page url when you install Collamark Extension and you visit a url with "#colla_id=" or "#cmid=" in it or you press the Browse Action( the Collamark extension button to the right of browser address bar).
CollaMark plugin cache up to 500 recent marks(including yours and the ones you can view) to your browser, that is why you can views some marks while no "#colla_id=" or "#cmid=" is in your address bar.
Third-party websites will send your pageview to collamark.com to get the public marks, this is the same as you install the extension and visit it with "#colla_id=" or "#cmid="
Collamark will not automatically send your viewing information in other circumstances.
Communicatioins between you and Collamark. For example, we may send you Service-related emails(e.g, service updates, account verification, privacy notices).

Analytics Information

We use thrid-party analytics tools to help use measure traffic and usage trends. These tools collect information from you by apps, browser extension, or webpages from Collamark when you visit.
Cookies and similar technologies

When you use our app, extensions (i.e Collamark Extensions for browsers, or browser plugins so to speak) and website, we may use cookies and similar technologies like web beacons and local storage to collection information about how you use our Service and provide better experience to you.

Server Log Information

When you download our app, extensions, or visit our website, we will keep a log file about how you use it , automatically. The information includes your web request, Internet Protocal("IP") address, browser type, system information, referring / exit pages and URLS, number of clicks and how you interact with links or buttons on all the interface from our Service.

Device identifiers

When you use a mobile device like a mobile device like tablets or phone to access our Service, we may acees, collect and store on your device, and/or remotely store one or more "device identifiers". This identifier may be data stored in connection with device hardware, data stored in connection with device's operating system or other software or data sent to the device by Instagram.
A device identifier may deliver information to Collamark or to a third party service about how you use our service, these information are used to provide you with custom service or help us create overall better service.

We will not send your infomation to third parties that are not part of Collamark or related to Collamark without your consent. Currently we are only providing service by ourselves, we will notify you when things change.

We may access, preserve and share your information to respond to legal request if we believe that it is right. These request may come from all over the world, and also we may access, preserve and share your information if we believe that it can prevent bad things, such as death or imminet bodily har.

How We Store Your Information

Your information is stored on Collamark servers, which is currently located in Japan, but may be all over the world. And different nation may have different laws so we may have different process of storing it.
By registering and using our service you consent to the data transering to Japan or to any other country we may provice service.
We take measures we can to encrypt part of your information, but you should know as we are not that big so we may encounter of attack, bad weather or other forces , resulting of your information been lost or stolen by other people.
Cookies and Session related information will exist no more than a month. But log file , account information , content your created will exist as long as they can.

What you can do

you can set part of your information private, such as private marks. These information are only accessable to you and us.
you can delete content you created or contact us do delete your account or any other information of. This may take time.

Children Policy

We do not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 13. But we do not know the exact age of our user, and we will delete the information as quickly as possible. And please contact us if you find anything from or about a child under 13.

Changes To Privacy Policy

Collamark may modify or update Privacy Policy from time to time, and you should review it from time to time. By continuing to use our service, you understand and accept all the modification or updates. We will notice you about these changes as we can, bu we may not notice you if we believe it is very small such as typo correction.
