by joefiesta, 5 years agoEdit 20200628: Okay, time to get rid of this add-on. It breaks more and more sites all the time. Worse is, you don't know if the web site is broken or what!
Edit, 20200618: This addon BREAKS Paypal. It is certainly not nice to break a financial webpage. At Paypal I receive the message "Sorry about that! Looks like this action is not supported. Please return and report this error so that we support it in the future. (invalid client_id or redirect_url)". The error occurs when checking out an item on Ebay and selecting Paypay payment method.
This addon is good at what it does. However:
1. it is VERY SLOW, I find it much better than other "eye-saving" or "dark screening" addons. It's coloring options are much more comprehensive and it handles subtle shades of gray from the original web page well. (These often become indistinguishable with these addons.)
2. It breaks many pages
3. It needs a hotkey to disable/enable the current page. There are just too many things that become invisible too often.
4. The list of disabled pages needs to be sorted alphabetically.
5. The options page needs some cleanup and better explanation of what the options do.
Note: I was running FF 68. With that, I discovered DBLT (dark background light text) breaks the Zoom Page WE addon. Upgraded to FF74 and problem solved (with quick help from DBLT author!).

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19079008, 25 days agoAmazing app, so the reason i use the app is because on certain pages applications like dark reader or roll20 does not work in a way that will not destroy the entire page if there was a way to add a option to instead work as a white list / or domains , it would be amazing, like a 'off in x site' but backwards

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12585479, 3 months agoДействительно полезное расширение.
- Rated 3 out of 5by speeddefrost, 3 months agoI've used this for a while and put up with one very annoying problem: it makes no exceptions for its styling and ends up inverting embedded videos (and similar types of page elements). If this was fixed I'd probably continue using it but I can't tolerate it anymore so I'm sticking to Dark Reader.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15091698, 3 months agoExcellent but it would be great to have a brightness adjustment. Besides as others reported it doesn't work in some sites. i.e. IMDB
- Rated 5 out of 5by Invictus, 4 months agoLife saver for a visually impaired who have huge "bloom" auras around bright areas.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18912983, 4 months agoIt could be a coincidence, but most of the sites I frequent had defects with this extension, ranging from annoyances to no-nos like changing the background of QR codes to dark, making them unreadable.
