Edit: ok fair enough, i guess i'll just avoid using googleDeveloper response
posted 18 days agoThere is no other way to disable AI Overviews on Google Search, because it is embedded in the page results. If we just hid it the AI resources would still be spent. That's why we redirect to the Web tab. You can disallow the addon from running in Private windows if you still want the ability to use some of the other features, but AI will still run then. Or you can remove the addon. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19661502, 23 days ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Bex, a month agoAdd's an AI chatbot named Perplexity for you to use instead of a search engine.
They talk about water and energy consumption of AI in their about section so its unbelievable this is part of it. Perplexity uses the same logo as this addon and it was removed from firefox when I removed this extension.Developer response
posted a month agoThis is simply not true. This addon does not add any AI chatbots and the logo is not the same as Perplexity. Firefox added Perplexity as a search engine option recently, and this developer had nothing to do with that. https://blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/firefox-144/
Also, the source code for this addon is open and available for review to see that all we do is add CSS to hide page elements and block or redirect specific url requests. https://github.com/jruns/disable-ai - Rated 5 out of 5by luni.ART.ic, a month agoCreated a profile just for this. Amazing plugin, I can finally use Google search without having to scroll forever!

Testing it in Android/Firefox now.
How does it do it?
Edit: found this in GitHub, thanks!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Daniel, 3 months agoThis extension is very power to disable AI overview. I am very like their solution: Stop all actions, requests of AI overviews. I used it on my laptop, so good. Thanks for your help.
