DuckDuckGo Search & Tracker Protection by DuckDuckGo

by Firefox user 13343953, 3 years agoUsed to recommend DDG to people and used it myself for years on all my devices. I have now switched to Brave everywhere. Privacy AND anti-censorship.
There is a false dichotomy that being anti-censorship means being Alex Jones 2.0. This makes it easy to dismiss people's complaints
Facebook censored a peer-reviewed articled published by the British Medical Journal (BMJ), one of the most respected medical journals. Lack of transparency for how something is branded "fake news" is worrying.
The most respected newspapers promoted the "WMD in Iraq" years ago. But I guess propaganda machine is cool when brown kids are killed instead of those bought by rich couple abroad (see news of kids from paid surrogacy stuck in Ukraine).
I am sure an underpaid intern knows better about what is disinformation and what is true.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18893378, a month agoNot as good as Privacy Badger, only reason to use is to know safe website is which is bery handy and reason I will rate it 4 stars, but as a blocker it claims site breakage if some things are blocked which I noticed is often false so use Privacy Badger or another one that blocks even more if you do your reasearch, yes it exists although nobody tells you of course in this day and age only info is mostly lies and ai bots, so if you are human like me than keep searching for it you will eventually find it, it isn't bought out by the evil corps that love to ruin everything once good. P.S. Duckduckgo is fairly junky in terms of finding good results you will end up with tons of stuff that you didn't even search for, better off using brave or presearch because it's not owned by the evil corps that don't care about us except making money.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Kelson, a month agoKeep in mind that it blocks *trackers*, not *ads*. The main advantage it has over, say, Privacy Badger and newer browser settings is that it detects email address fields and offers to generate a disposable alias (if you use that feature)
