About this extension
Features:
- Fonts (Andika, Lexend, OpenDyslexic, Shantell Sans, Balsamiq Sans, Atkinson Hyperlegible)
- Adjustable spacing
- Site exclusions
- Theme options
Why I Built This?
I've always struggled with reading. My focus would drift, words blurred together, and I'd avoid text whenever I could, reaching for videos, podcasts, anything but reading.
I was never formally diagnosed with dyslexia, but discovering dyslexic-friendly fonts made things finally click and reading be enjoyable.
I tried other extensions, but they were either too complex or broke the sites I used daily. So I built something simple: just the font, spacing adjustments, and site exclusions.
If reading has always felt harder than it should, maybe this will help you too.
Open Source
This is my small contribution to a community that's given me so much. The code is fully open on GitHub (https://github.com/ernvk23/dyslexia-away) if you want to peek under the hood.
If this helps you enjoy reading again, consider sharing it with someone who might need it too.
