- Rated 4 out of 5by David B, 7 years agoThis is a free plugin for 720p or lower and does a great job - 5 stars there.
But YouTube has split the audio and video on 1080p now, meaning it has to be processed (joined) before it can be downloaded. Otherwise you get no sound (as with another plugin I tried) Many of the plugins no longer work (not to mention the FFv57 upgrade). Another popular plugin took hours and watermarked the output, then asked for money to fix it. (extortion!)
This one did a much better job, asking for a donation up front for server processing. It was able to process a 2 hr HD video in just a few minutes with excellent results. I happily paid for it.
The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is it uses cookies to upgrade rather than giving you an upgraded plugin. I had to fiddle with my security settings to get it working. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12211015, 7 years ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13385186, 7 years agoFree version only allows maximum 720p downloads. You have to pay to enable 1080p downloading. Otherwise, works fine.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13408801, 7 years agoBefore I make my review, I'd like to call out all the morons and idiots out there who get upset and write nasty reviews when they don't get the world handed to them for nothing. I'd like to suggest they go out, get a job, and support themselves and their families for a while, so they can learn the life lessons they so desperately need, before filling up these comment sections with their insufferable whining. If they had bothered to read the screen in front of them, they would have known up front they had to pay for the 1080p and MP3 options. After trying this add-on, I gladly paid $20 for it.
It works as advertised, though I haven't tried 1080p yet. I tried the MP3 conversion and it worked fine, though there was a short wait for the server to do the conversion.
One drawback for me was the limited number of choices when it came to picture quality. For example, if a video was recorded at 480p, my choices were between "3gp 144p" and "MP4 360p". The 1080p option was not offered, so it appears that I have to settle for a lower quality picture for many, many videos. I'd like to see 480p and 720p options added ASAP.
Thanks for providing this useful add-on and I hope it will get even better in the future. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13375626, 7 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Geoffrey De Belie, 7 years agoI realise this section is not for bugs, but you don't offer me an option. The support section is closed, and there is no e-mail address for (non-urgent) support.
360p and 3GP download a file of 0 bytes on my computer. So I can't use the extension. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13329601, 7 years agoit works but high quality mp4/mp3 is premium :(
