Fire Drag by Eric Tsang

by timtak, 8 years agoYes! I am using it as a replacement for QuickDrag on Firefox 57. I also thought that it did not work till I changed the minimum drag distance to 10 on the advice of Anonymous user 96ab79. I have google search links opened in background tabs at the last (right) position. It is a shame that escape does not cancel a drag as it did in quick drag. However, I don't think (or did not realise) that QuickDrag had an option to prevent the default behaviour of opening dragged links as links rather than text search. In this FireDrag you can "Ignore Selected Text if Dragging a Hyperlink" and turning this to off (the opposite of what I would have thought!) prevents links being opened ignoring the link, but simply searches Google for the text you are dragging. Great.

- Rated 2 out of 5by pd, 3 years agoAppears to no longer open links (in a new adjacent tab) as it has done well for some time.
Frustrating that functionality is not a default option in Firefox but understandable.
This is all I use this add-on - opening links into a new tab when dragged.
Note: may (but uncertain) be related to the recent Firefox 91.4.1esr (64-bit) release. - Rated 4 out of 5by EXE.trim.ALL, 4 years agoNot compatible with multi-account containers - this extension always open dragged links not in container of parent tab. Github Issue #45
- Rated 4 out of 5by ChinaRider, 4 years ago5-star rating until recently. The options screen won't load now, just takes me to a blank page. Hopefully you will fix it, on my new PC all links I drag are opened in the background (I assume that's the default, and I can't change it due to this issue).

How can this be fixed?
