- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13780092, 7 years agoVery useful addon to increase your browsing productivity! Very convenient together with Tablet PC pens!
FoxyGestures is an actively developed, feature-rich gestures recognizer that can greatly enhance your browsing productivity. It allows defining custom gestures triggering custom user scripts for advanced browser control/automation, for example to automate the Tree Style Tabs addon. It can also be used very conveniently with a Wacom pen by drawing gestures in the air. (If you have problems with air gestures since Microsoft's pen scrolling in Windows 10 v1709, see https://github.com/marklieberman/foxygestures/issues/217#issuecomment-365014892 for a workaround config.)
@all those who have submitted 1-star feedback complaining about bookmark access permissions:
- Are you aware that technically all addons before Firefox v57 had access to all your bookmarks?
- There are users like me who want to control bookmarks (like adding a new ones) via gestures.
- If you don't trust an addon, feel free not to use it. Or build your trust by checking its open(!) source code at https://github.com/marklieberman/foxygestures for any phone-home code. (I didn't find any.)
- As a general-purpose gestures addon that allows you to write&configure custom user scripts, it would defy this addon's purpose to disallow access to certain parts of your browser.
- If you really want an option to granuarly give/remove permissions to/from FoxyGestures, consider posting an enhancement request on https://github.com/marklieberman/foxygestures/issues and see what the developer thinks about this. Giving 1-star feedback here because of this isn't constructive! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13109970, 7 years ago5 STARS! LOVE IT!
This is a great replacement for Fire Gestures, which is a legendary XUL addon. Thanks so much for the hard work implementing a great web extension replacement.
One question. Would it be possible to add support for the WebExtension named Temporary Containers, or provide that developer with an API to register events within Foxy Gestures so links can be opened in a Temporary Container with a mouse gesture?
The dev of Temporary Containers stated they would need that support so thier addon could work with Foxy Gestures.
Anyhow, thanks again for this brilliant addon! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13455720, 7 years agoThis replaces FireGestures for me. Does what it needs to do.
People - this is open source, you can check the code and the linked issues/requests on things like new permissions due to feature requests etc. - Rated 5 out of 5by Grey-Black-White, 7 years agoIt is a great add-on that provides me a good range of mouse gestures that I use everyday. Many people complained about the demise of firegestures, but if it was another time and both add-ons existed simultaneously, I would still prefer this add-on over firegestures because its clean interface and it is lightweight on resources.

- Rated 5 out of 5by MorningAltair, 7 years agoDoes what it needs to do within the limitations of what the new Firefox allows add-ons to do. I also like the full explanation of its working principle on the github readme page. Edit: People are complaining about bookmark permissions, but they're necessary for a gesture command to bookmark a page. See the add-on author's "Why Permissions Are Required" at the github wiki https://github.com/marklieberman/foxygestures/wiki/Why-Permissions-Are-Required

If anyone still has issues with FF 58 + FG 1.1.0: reinstall the addon, or set gesture button back and forth in settings. - Rated 5 out of 5by jokalliauer-1364600595.78, 7 years agoNew in 1.0.14 - double-right click to open the context menu. This can be disabled in the options. The right-click bug is fixed in FF 58 beta. For more information: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1360278.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12515475, 7 years agoYou customize your gestures by simply drawing on a grid. How fast, easy-to-use & intuitive is that! I was done setting up my 5 gestures in 30 seconds, then backed them up for next time. Thank you!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Tarpo, 7 years agoPlease add search by Search Engine. This functionality is the most important for me. That's the only reason I used firegestures. The default move are RD.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13667072, 7 years agovery easy to configure, as I was used to firegesture I changed a bit the configuration, and it's also possible to backup/restore the configuration, perfect alternative to firegesure :) thanks!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Gliese, 7 years agoVery good replacement for FireGestures. Does everything i want, except working in Firefox service pages, which is just limited by WebExtensions. Please continue to make it even better.
- Rated 5 out of 5by jusuff, 7 years agoBest replacement for FireGestures. User scripts are event better than those in FG. Foxy Gestures gives everything possible in the current, limited, webextensions api.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12997417, 7 years agoTried serval add-ons after switch to Quantum, this one is the best for my needs.
Please, enable gestures for empty tabs (to close them) and FF system pages like settings. ATM its not working.
