- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13485379, 7 years agoHaving a little difficulty getting this configured properly for my use. How do I accomplish the following?:
1. Send all Traffic including DNS over configured proxy by default. ( configured the entry you cannot delete for this purpose as socks5)
2. Added 2nd Proxy as socks5 with blacklist patterns. (for sites I do not want to to through the proxy including DNS)
3. Choose option "Use Enabled by patterns"
Regardless of which proxy setting I choose, all traffic is going through the proxy server and ignoring the patterns that I've set up. Shouldn't there be an option to use a specific proxy and NOT ignore patterns?
Also, why is it that you cannot delete the default, it seems to over complicate the process of configuring this add-on. Why is there not an option to add patterns to the default setting?
Patterns I don't want going over the proxy: *.google.com, *.microsoft.com, *.xfinity.com, everything else should go through the proxy including DNS.
Thanks for your help, hopefully I'm just missing something simple. - Rated 1 out of 5by PatheticCockroach, 7 years agoEditing my review, around 6 years later, after an ABSOLUTELY DISASTROUS update (v8.2 it seems) that got automatically applied today (this is why auto-updates are bad and I used to disable them all the time - I should have kept this up).
I use multiple separate profiles, each with distinct proxy settings. The update lost the extension settings fully in half of my profiles. In one of them (my main one, mind you), it SILENTLY DISABLED the SOCKS proxy that I had configured via Firefox's settings.
Luckily, I checked my IP that same day for another reason so I was able to detect that without my IP getting leaked for days or weeks or more without me noticing. But this could have been much worse. Totally unacceptable.
---- Old review below:
I used that add-on a bit pre-Fx 57, and it felt quite bloated at the time.
I tried it again after the WebExtension mayhem, and I really like this new version. For my rather simple use case (being able to use and switch between a bunch of SOCKS5 proxies that require username+password), it's quite perfect. I also like that it's easy to import/export settings, so that I can duplicate my config between my several profiles.
As someone else said, it would be nice to be able to disable logging, and apparently that feature is coming soon :) - Rated 4 out of 5by SPRATAY, 7 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13572306, 7 years agoThe subscribe function do not exist any more after i updated FF. So I tried to add the pattern rules to meet my needs.
However, the pattern rules sometimes do not work right and the update of the log is very late in the new version of foxypxory.
And sometimes I get the the page of 'what's is my ip' after
I clicked the log button. Anyway, foxyproxy has been the first choice for me and I hope it will work better and better.
Thank you for your hard work. - Rated 4 out of 5by NeoTrey, 7 years agoHi, there. This add-on was awesome before firefox 57 update. Now it's really give me headaches. I am using ShadowSocks as proxy. when I set by patterns and priority, I can not access blocked sites. Switching to using proxy shadowsocks for all URL, I can, but there will be huge memory problem. FoxyProxy version is 6.1.9. imported old xml setting file. I think the old FoxyProxy.xml file is the problem, wish the subscription list auto-updating could be available soom.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Caribbeanfox, 7 years agoTook a month subscription a few hours ago as a kind of a trial. I tried a few other addons but this one works at my satisfaction. It works fast, the fastest of all addons I tried before. Easy of use. Just add the provided IP, nickname and port. That's all folks. After expiration I will extend for at least 3 years. I'd recommend it for sure, 5 stars aren't sufficient.
- Rated 1 out of 5by JD Baldwin, 7 years agoWAY WAY WAY over-complex. I just want simple SIMPLE management of proxy switching. There were so many great little apps to do this but now the only proxy manager the new versions of FF accepts is this godawful thing. It's completely incomprehensible. I can't get a little quick-switch button on the toolbar. I have a master's degree in computer science and I've been working in IT for over 25 years -- AND I CANNOT MAKE THIS THING WORK. Please give us a stripped-down version that just does simple, straightforward proxy-switching without all the crazy baked in.

- Rated 5 out of 5by John, 7 years agoGreat features, works amazingly well. If you have to deal with switching proxies for any purpose, this is definitely the tool I would recommend.
- Rated 3 out of 5by wonder, 7 years agoNot sure what to say. I'll have to say, because of the new firefox forced changes on foxyproxy, it has now become unusable for me, even since the new version before FF 57 rolled out. I had to revert to the old version to make it work when I was still using FF 56 and earlier versions. Now with FF 57, there doesn't seem to be a way to revert to earlier versions, then the current foxyproxy no longer works, even though all the proxy and patterns look the same as before.
Downthemall and flashgot and a few other important add-ons also become invalid. I guess it is time for me to abandon Firefox for good finally, despite that I have been using it (and its predecessor) for the past 20 years.Developer response
posted 7 years agoIf you decide to stay with FIrefox 57, you get the last version of FoxyProxy that works with it, 4.6.5, from here :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/foxyproxy-standard/versions/?page=1#version-4.6.5 - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 5469866, 7 years agoFoxyProxy is an indispensable extension for me. In fact I waited until FoxyProxy was available that I made my final decision to upgrade to Firefox 57. I'm grateful that FoxyProxy is live and going strong with every new release on Firefox Quantum. Thank you FoxyProxy developer!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13534053, 7 years agoNot as good as the previous version, but it still works as intended and the dev is working hard to make it better. Would recommend.
