Privacy Policy — Veto
Effective date: July 5, 2026
Veto lets you teach websites how to behave: hide an element, click an element automatically, or remember a control's setting. This policy describes everything the extension does with data.
YOUR RULES STAY ON YOUR DEVICE
Every rule you create is stored locally in your browser's extension storage. Rules never leave your device. There are no accounts, no sync servers, and no cloud. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of your rules and settings.
WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES ON PAGES YOU VISIT
The extension only acts on a page when you have created a rule for that site. On sites where you have no rules, it reads its own locally stored settings, finds nothing to do, and goes idle. It does not read, modify, or transmit anything from the page. It never reads your browsing history, never collects page content, and never executes remote code. Rules are data, not scripts.
THE ONE THING THAT IS COUNTED
To learn whether this product is worth continuing, the extension sends one anonymous event when you create a rule. The event contains only the kind of rule created (hide, click, or remember) never the website, the element, the rule's label, any page content, or any identifier tied to you. No cookies, no persistent identifiers. It is received by Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused, EU-hosted service that stores no personal data; your IP is used transiently to de-duplicate daily counts and is not stored. You can turn this off with a visible toggle in the popup; the extension is fully functional with it off.
SUBSCRIPTIONS AND LICENSE KEYS
The free tier works entirely offline and is not time-limited. The paid tier unlocks teaching more than three websites. Payments are handled by Polar, the merchant of record; your payment details go to Polar directly and the extension never sees or stores them. If you activate a license key in the popup, the extension sends that key and nothing else to Polar's validation endpoint (api.polar.sh) to confirm the subscription is active, and re-checks it periodically. No browsing data, rules, or page content accompanies these requests. The key and tier status are stored locally. If validation can't be reached, your paid tier stays active, network failures never downgrade you.
WHAT WE NEVER DO
- No selling, sharing, or transferring of data to third parties. Only Plausible (the anonymous event) and Polar (your license key, if you subscribe) receive anything.
- No ads, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting.
- No collection of personal information, browsing history, form data, keystrokes, or page content.
