by Firefox user 13010556, 7 years agoReally like the idea of reimplementing the Google fast search, as I'm missing this hugely since they removed this feature. Great job with that!

After checking the publicly available sourcecode, privacy concerns were unfounded. Thanks for the great addon!

posted 7 years agoSorry, I have restricted the permissions as much as possible. I originally had it set as you're requesting, but that blocked users from other countries and applications (read: subdomains such as scholar.google) from using the extension. The extension stops processing unless html[itemtype="http://schema.org/SearchResultsPage"] or .gs_r is present (scholar).
However, if you would like, you are free to review and build the extension yourself. The source code is available publicly here:

- Rated 5 out of 5by Daniel, 5 months agoTHANK YOU SO MUCH. This is absolutely perfect. Also thank you so much for auto-focusing on the search bar when using the keyboard. I'm never removing this extension this is fantastic.
- Rated 5 out of 5by The_Loko, 7 months agoWorks fine on Firefox 128 (both TAB and arrow keys).
Thanks! - Rated 2 out of 5by Guccifer, 2 years agoAlmost what i need, but in my latest version of FF, it doesnt work- It just bumps to the last related seraches in the bottom of the serp
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15315459, 4 years agoGoes to related searches rather than search results
- Rated 2 out of 5by farnsworth10, 4 years agoArrow keys not working, which is the most important feature for me. I found another addon which actually works: Web Search Navigator.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Darkmaster006, 4 years agoA perfect add-on. But it has currently stopped working and not when using the keys it selects 'related searches' instead of the actual searches. Hope this can be fixed, thank you.

Unfortunately it intermittently stops working / selects the wrong links, when Google changes their DOM selectors. This then requires a patch release by the author.

Edit: The addon _is_ open source! I just had to do some googling. Maybe the GitHub repo could be added as a homepage here? :)
Updating to 5/5 stars!
https://github.com/jchafik/google-search-shortcuts - Rated 5 out of 5by nnbbsrjnv, 4 years agoGreat add-on! Stopped working for firefox 87.0 (64 bit) on macOS Mojave 10.14.6 and windows 10 pro 1909. Googled "apple" and noticed that now i go through sitelinks that are placed under the first result by pushing arrow buttons.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Y_P, 4 years agoThe concept is great but sadly it doesn't work on my browser... I can see my arrow and tab keys locked since I can't use them anymore, but no arrow are showing up on front of any link and pressing enter doesn't do anything either. Let me know if that is something you could investigate and need anything in that regard.

Is there any chance to implement the same feature for startpage.com?
