Group Speed Dial by Juraj Mäsiar

by Firefox user 11478734, a year agoAbsolutely focused on an anti-user-friendly way of managing your configuration on middle and long term.
Selecting multiple dials to copy them to another group? No (reorg)
Duplicate a group? No (reorg)
Move multiple dial conserving the format? No
Select 8 tabs and save to a group? No
Inserting 1 dial? No Deleting 1 dial (and the others change 1 position)? No
Insert 1 empty line? No
Delete a line? No
Unable to transfer groups with original format, only lists where your format are lost.
Unable to export 1 or multiple selected groups, unable to import them.
Reorganizing is a complete mess.
Absolutely un-user friendly, basic editing functions missing.
-
Subscription's PRO is not for professionals but all people having some intelligence
Basic functions missing from normal version
If you think - pay
Anti-intelligence profit-oriental thinking
Basic Firefox functions supported only if you pay
Basic "Errors" in subscription free edition
-
Juraj Mäsiar has a tendency to be without respect when his concept of free software minimums are criticized - just because you have other point of view

posted a year agoHello,
Some of these things are already possible, just not so intuitive.
For example, to clone group, open Edit group window / Settings / Clone group.
Also, to move multiple dials - click the main menu / Select dials, then select dials you want to move, then right click and choose target group or use cut/copy/paste.
There is only like 10 paid features, the huge majority is free:
https://github.com/fastaddons/GroupSpeedDial/wiki/PRO-version-features
It would be great if you could create issue for the missing features on my Github:
https://github.com/fastaddons/GroupSpeedDial/issues
And I'll try to implement them.
Software development is hard, I'm doing my best to make it easy for the users, but for me as author it's all easy and intuitive. I plan to record some tutorial videos soon that will cover some of these topics (like organization). Also, there is a new intro video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgAJTjrcIRI
In any case, thank you for the feedback, I'll see what I can do to make things better :)
Best Regards,
Juraj Mäsiar

posted 10 days agoHello,
Could you write me email and describe what exactly happened?
(admin@fastaddons.com)
The update was released already 10 days ago, it's highly unlikely to be related, also there would be much more reports.
Check if there is "Old Firefox Data" folder on your desktop, it's possible that your Firefox was refreshed.
Also, I've wrote an article that could help you recover your dials:
https://github.com/fastaddons/GroupSpeedDial/wiki/Recovery-of-your-dials,-how-are-dials-stored-and-how-to-make-a-backup

- Rated 5 out of 5by Desert Catmom, a month agoWorks smoothly and has a lot of customization. So far this is the BEST speed-dial add-on I have found. Works well with Firefox. Many thanks to the developer for creating this. I subscribed to the PRO version to help support this work.
- Rated 4 out of 5by pulsar14, 2 months ago"Open Group on Mouse-over" almost useless because reacts too quickly. Time delay should be 3000 max and not 300. If I set groups on multi-rows, mouse movement hovering the groups opens what I don't want to open.
That's why this feature is almost useless. Thank youDeveloper response
posted 2 months agoHello,
Thank you for the feedback.
I'll increase it, but 3 seconds sounds a bit too much :).
I'll fix this in the upcoming version 29.0 which should be out in a near future.

- Rated 5 out of 5by ssdogdu, 4 months agoThe dial dimensions are too large. I gave 4 stars but I would give 5 stars if it was possible to resize dials and adjust how many dials should be in a row.
Edit: Yep, did it! Thanks. Will change to 5 stars of course.Developer response
posted 4 months agoHello,
You can customize the group layout in the "Edit group" window - right click group name or open main menu and click "Edit group".
More info about layouts:

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18725834, 5 months agoStop making things have pro subscriptions. I know it's optional and you gotta make money, but it's really stupid of you. Please either get a job or turn the pro subscription into a donation thing.

posted 7 months agoHello,
Group Speed Dial version 26.0 is still compatible with Firefox ESR 115, you can install it from here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/groupspeeddial/versions/
(click the "[Download file](https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/4348052/groupspeeddial-26.0.xpi)" below the change log)
Sadly, I can no longer bring back support in the current version of my addon due to missing JavaScript features in Firefox ESR 115. Even the newer ESR 128 is getting too old and in a few months will be replaced with Firefox ESR 140.
But the version 26.0 should work fine.
