Developer response
posted 8 years agoHello :)
Sure you can, watch my introduction video to see main features, including drag and drop:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvT4w-R8hJU
Just make sure you don't have "Super-speed" feature active, in that case you need to hold "Shift" or "Ctrl" key to drag and drop dials.
Have a nice day :)

Tried all options for updating and while it goes through the process, the tile never updates. Quickly loosing it's usefulness as some of the tiles are now blank and won't update :(

posted 6 years agoHello,
You can try to reinstall my add-on (make sure to export your dials to a file first).
I haven't made any changes there for a long time so things should work normally.
Feel free to contact me to my support e-mail if it didn't help (of if it helps).
Also in a near future I will release a big upgrade that will fix some small issues with auto-reload and thumbnails generation.

posted 8 years agoHello,
1) I'm not able to reproduce the first issue. Could you please write me to my support e-mail what exactly did you do?
2) Only if you create an account on:
https://group-speed-dial.fastaddons.com/
you dials will be synchronized to cloud (no other data will be transferred).
Server is hosted at professional cloud service Tilaa.com
And all communication with the server is encrypted.
Have a nice day :)

Juraj Mäsiar - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13303190, 8 years agoI verified that all mentioned fix/feature works as described. Keep the good work!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12890004, 8 years agoFirstly it will last beyond the Appspocalypse (upgrade to FF 57). Second it is light, simple, fast and stable. Third it is the ONLY contender to replace speed dial 2 Chrome extension. This facilitates migration from lumbering bloated chrome browser.
Thank you! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 1057640, 8 years agoSyncing in Group Speed Dial actually better/easier than FVD Speeddial, however FVD has a slightly more polished look and feel.
**I've since ditched FVD Speed dial for this again. The syncing is just that much better. Also I think the icon/thumbnail settings have improved since I last used this add-on. And after a while, and quite a bit of tweaking, the dials look pretty good. I don't miss FVD at all.
Another thing to consider is the Cloud Dials for use on your phone. This loads so much faster than having FVD installed natively on Firefox for Android. - Rated 5 out of 5by DevilishVicious, 8 years agoGood replacement for Speed Dial by Josep del Rio. Working great so far. Waiting for the "auto-reload thumbnails" function, if possible. Also, it would be nice to have the option to open dials in new tab (foreground and background) by left click. Thanks and keep up the good work.

posted 8 years agoHello,
Thank you for the review.
Auto-reload should come in upcoming version in few weeks.
Regarding the opening dials in new tabs - how would you like to make this work? Could you please write me to my support e-mail what exactly do you want to achieve?
I can introduce new setting in Options page or I can extend context menu (currently there is "Open in new tab" (background)) or I can add some icons to dials that can have this kind of behavior...
However even now Firefox supports:
- "Ctrl + left click" to open in new tab (background)
- "middle mouse click" to open new tab (background)
- "Ctrl + Shift + left click" to open in new tab (foreground)
Have a nice day :)

Juraj Mäsiar - Rated 5 out of 5by Lightbender67, 8 years agoThanks for all your work Juraj. I just started exploring and it looks great. I have been using SuperStart for years with the ability to use folders. I have been searching for a way to share folders or groups so that friends or co-workers can have access to the same group. Please consider this for a future pro feature. It would be worth paying to be able to share site links with teams.
Developer response
posted 8 years agoHello,
Thank you for the review.
Sharing groups will be possible, this feature is already planned (with high priority) for the near future. However there are some other features that needs to be finished before this so it could take month or two to implement.
Also I want to make it perfect so that you can truly collaborate with your colleagues in in one group and all its sub-groups.
So stay tuned :) and wish me luck.
Have a nice day!

Juraj Mäsiar - Rated 2 out of 5by Lord of Scripts, 8 years agoI get the impression this will also backup to the cloud my passwords or other sensitive website data. During installation it asks for permission to access ALL data.
Also, I try to add the page to a dial but it shows me a blank page and no option to create a dial group, what's the purpose of all this if it does not work?Developer response
posted 8 years agoHello there :)
As an author of GroupSpeedDial I can guarantee you there are no passwords or any other private data being collected.
In fact, unless you create an account on https://group-speed-dial.fastaddons.com/ there will be no data send to my server at all.
If you create an account, only information about dials you entered (like URL and name) will be synchronized with server.
All this can be verified by anyone using Developer tools in Firefox and checking network messages.
Also all add-ons including this one has to pass automatic and manual tests/reviews done by FIrefox team to avoid malicious add-ons.
Regarding the message about accessing all data - this means that add-on can inject "content script" into some pages - specifically this add-on can inject it only in my "https://*.fastaddons.com/*"" domain, this can be verified in manifest.json file.
I would like to point out that privacy is very important to me and I'm doing my best to protect all users data synchronized to my server. These data will be never accessible to anyone else!
Regarding your issue with the "blank page", could you please write me to my support e-mail your Firefox version and operating system you are using? Add-on should work normally in every OS in every new Firefox version including Nightly.
Have a nice day and weekend :)

Juraj Mäsiar - Rated 3 out of 5by MS-DOS, 8 years agoCompared to good old but outdated Speed Dial, this one looks very poor and lacks quite a few features that I need.
Developer response
posted 8 years agoHello,
Don't worry, I'm adding more and more features as we speak!
There is a "Features coming in near future" section in description that lists some of the features that will come.
I believe this add-on will be a great replacement of good old Josep del Rio's Speed Dial.
If you are missing some particular feature, feel free to write me to my support e-mail. Easy features are implemented immediately, others are planned for next releases.
Have a nice day :)

Thank you for the review and your input!
New option for removing context menu item "Add this page to dial" will be introduced in upcoming version 4.0 (coming soon).
Have a nice day :)

Juraj Mäsiar- Rated 4 out of 5by NoXPhasma, 8 years agoThis is a great Addon, which will replace Fast Dial for me. But there is still space to improve this Addon by far.
1. Automatically generated Thumbnails are really ugly, because you cannot chose the "Browser Size" on which the thumbnails should be recorded. So you get thumbnails which only show a fraction of a website. Please add this!
*update* found out that refresh by visiting does exactly what I needed.
2. I would like to set the max displayed width of the whole Thumbnails, when I chose to use 4 columns and 12 rows the thumbnails are stretched very strong. Usually I would do it myself with Stylish, but thanks to webext this isn't possible anymore. Please consider to add many more styling options to the Addon, your users will love it, believe me!
Thanks for this Addon, keep on!Developer response
posted 8 years agoHello,
Thank you for the review and good ideas.
1) You are right, there needs to be more options for sizes... I will add some in future versions, currently for "Refresh dial" there is only a "|B|" button next to it (in context menu) that will create even bigger (more zoomed) thumbnail.
2) Yes if you setup 4x12 dials then the stretch will be crazy! I didn't think of this but it's actually a great idea. I will add this soon. Until then you can try to create more groups and maybe increase space between dials...
Thank you for nice ideas, if you have more, feel free to write me on my support e-mail.
Have a nice day!

Juraj Mäsiar - Rated 4 out of 5by SorryForMyEN, 8 years agoYou can not hide home/account/option buttons on dial page and there is no numbering of dials and groups, or shortcuts to access them directly. But it is a very beautiful extension and the visual possibilities are diverse with colors gradient. For the future, it would be great to have more style options, such as right-angle corners, active tab of the same color as the active group, navigation between dials/groups by directional keys, backup of dials/settings, and option to do not overwrite default pages (newtab and home).

posted 8 years agoHello,
thank you for the good ideas. I will definitely implement most of them if not all! Some of them are already planned for the next release like the keys shortcuts to make it fully controllable by keyboard. Also more visual options is coming.
Thanks again and have a nice day!

Juraj Mäsiar - Rated 5 out of 5by suijurisdeigratia, 8 years agoI've been an FVD user for years but it was time to switch my dial add-on that is compatible with the new multiprocess functionality in Firefox. Firefox 57 compatibility is also a big plus at this stage in development. This dial add-on has it all. It's smooth, fast, and offers the ability to layer dials which is really nice. The cloud sync is also great and works well. I'm using it in both Firefox and Chrome across multiple windows operating systems (7 and 10). My only suggestion is to add the ability for the Main Group bar at the top to wrap as when I had a huge list of groups it wasn't able to wrap to a new line. Keep up the great work!
- Rated 4 out of 5by Anonymous, 8 years agoOverall very good, works as advertised. Has some issues with generating thumbnails on some pages, but the 'refresh by visiting page' option is a decent workaround. Took me a while to figure out that I can change the number of rows/columns by right-clicking the tab at the top. I feel like it should ask how many to make the first time the page is opened.
I can set a thumbnail with a file, but not a URL. I'd imagine this would be easy to add. The speed dial plugin I was using before also allowed thumbnails to auto- refresh after X hours/days, this does not appear to.Developer response
posted 8 years agoHello,
Thank you for the feedback!
It's helping me to get better.
Next version will enable user to change default dimension on first initialization.
I've add some FAQ in description.
Support for thumbnails from URL is planned in next few weeks.
Sadly background auto-reload is currently not possible with the new Web-extension API.
Thanks again and have a nice day.

Juraj Mäsiar - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 10385182, 8 years agoHi
I found your extension the most suitable speed dial out there (for Firefox). However I've some requests in possible:
1. Actually you make use of a fixed grid layout. Please support instead a totally fluid layout with no empty boxes and adaptable dials.
2. I don't know if it's a WebExtension API limitation, but a clean addressbar should absolutely be a must IMHO
3. option to not show any title on dials
4. let user change the thumbnail with what he want
Thanks in advanceDeveloper response
posted 8 years agoHi,
New version 3.4 was released yesterday. You can now hide empty dials (in options), hide title on all dials (in options), setup custom thumbnail pictures (in edit popup).
Regarding addressbar there is a bug in Firefox that should be fixed, until then you can use Ctrl + L shortcut to focus adressbar and start writing...
If you have more ideas or feature request, let me know on my support e-mail.
Thanks for the input and have a nice day.
