- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16764364, 4 years agoThey decided to start charging for things that has been free for years with less than a months heads up...
- Rated 1 out of 5by Searinex, 4 years agoDo to LogMeIn (and assests like Lastpass) being sold to private equity firms (Francisco Partners, Evergreen, the PE arm of tech activist investor Elliott Management) and changes to desktop/mobile sharing being moved to the paid tier, I will not be using or recommending Lastpass.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Joe, 4 years agoNow that LastPass is the most popular password manager, and millions use it regularly, LastPass has decided to begin charging you for use. As of yesterday, if you do not start paying for the premium service, they will lock out all except for one of your devices. Oh, and you no longer have access to customer support as a free user either. Did you use this for both your phone and your computer? Now you're locked out of one until you begin to pay.
Pure extortion. Luckily, it takes about 5 minutes to transfer all your passwords to Bitwarden (they even give you a simple step-by-step as to how), which does the exact same job as LastPass, just as securely, and it remains FREE.
Do not use LastPass. Save your money and use Bitwarden, which is open source and will always remain free. - Rated 1 out of 5by Даниил, 4 years agoIt was perfect till greediness took up. I understand that new users need to pay, but you can be more loyal to those who work with you for all previous years. Goodbye.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14959263, 4 years agoThey suddenly decided to get people's money. Very bad. I do not want it any more. Switched to BitWarden. Use the tools to import your vault from Lastpass and you will be ready in 5 minutes, to use it for free, on all your devices.

"Been an avid user of this password manager for 6 years straight now, loved it up until the newest update from Lastpass where they're paywalling free users and only limiting them to a single device type, mobile or computer, which means they're locking you out of any other form of device BUT the device type you chose (mobile or computer)."
Pretty much agree, nothing to add, switching to BitWarden instead. - Rated 1 out of 5by Jake, 4 years ago

You won't be able to even see the passwords on other device types, making the system completely useless.. Now they're paywalling their users for 36 dollars annually (mind you, NO monthly subscription is available), you won't be able to get help from anyone but the community and their FAQ if you're a free user.
A lot of users are currently migrating to other password managers like Dashlane or Bitwarden, and I'd advise anyone from this point forward to do the same.
It's hard saying goodbye to such a lovely, secure and generally well-liked service turned by complete greed. They're certainly digging their own grave with this move. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16696159, 4 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Jabed, 4 years agoWas the one i recommended to most people for years. Now they restrict access to one device and strip more useful features. Understood its a business but this is a disaster company practise.
This would be an easy app to pay for if it was unique, however, many free alternatives exist which are identical to LastPass. Time to move to BitWarden -> A simple import and export job and look at that! No more outrageous pricing per year. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14732314, 4 years ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by M-a-k-o-s, 4 years agoMy experience with the app was fairly good for about five years, until now, when they've made having this extension and the app on your phone at the same time a premium feature.
Honestly, it is not the best. The UI is always clunky. If and when I allowed it to do overlays to autofill it's always a significant problem and puts in the wrong thing after preventing me from doing what I'm trying to with a very slow popup that messes with everything else.
Changing passwords can be a problem. If you happen to lose your phone with Microsoft or Google's Authenticators on it (or just delete and re-download the app) you'll discover you're in very real trouble if you were using them for 2FA because they generally aren't locked to your account but your phone (at least, this was the case in 2019, things could have changed). With that, despite having the password, one working 2FA code that I could provide consistently, and every bit of information about my account and its usage it still took me weeks to regain access to my password because of how slow customer support is to free users - that last part I at least understand. I will note that their policy says that their people will never ask for your password, but mine did way back then. I spent a long time stewing over the possibility of some random lastpass employee selling my passwords online, and they could have in the time it took for them to tell me 2fa was finally disabled. I'll still never know about that for sure. It's also somewhat funny to me that Lastpass, the people that protect my passwords, are the only people to ever ask me to send a random employee on the other end of a text chat my master password in cleartext. Or ask me for it at all.
This application for handling the most precious and private things you have comes with seven trackers on Android. That is significantly more than its competitors. That and effectively making having your passwords everywhere you go a premium feature was a good enough reason to leave it behind. I will not be coming back. - Rated 1 out of 5by RPGX_Omega, 4 years ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16392067, 4 years agoThis use to be a 5 star app no questions asked. But, over the years they've become more and more greedy and removing features to put them behind a pay wall. This would be understandable if they offered a unique service.
BUT, there are A LOT of free alternatives that do just as well but for free. The two that come to mind are BitWarden and KeePassXC. AND they are open source so you know exactly what the app is doing. - Rated 1 out of 5by Larb, 4 years ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 16746721, 4 years agoLastPass made the sad choice to kneecap their free tier rather than win customers to their premium tier through valuable features.
