by Rogue Art, 5 years agoOne of the best addons I have ever used--probably would miss this as much, if not more than an adblocker. It's very effective at blocking distracting sites and the impact on my daily life has been significant.
As far as impact on the browser, LeechBlock itself uses very little RAM and CPU as an addon and it works very quickly (no delay in intercepting) in blocking websites. I also like that it just sits there in its little corner in my browser--no random alerts asking you to download another addon/write a review, ads, etc. like some addons.
The choice of features are excellent--being able to use wildcards to block the distracting pages of a website and allowing the productive parts is genius. The override and delaying feature is pretty smart too. I've used a good mix of all these features in the last few months that I've been using the addon. My favorite one is probably the "immediately block when conditions are met" since it just forces me to get off of social media and other distracting websites unlike other blockers that only block new instances of a website.
Overall, this is a very useful and very interesting productivity tool. It's unreal to see an addon of this quality being produced for free and I'm glad that it has all the features and customization that it has. It's definitely achieved its goal as a productivity tool and has easily cut my time on distracting sites.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Wren, 14 days agoA super useful extension to break free of the default "pull up "x" site and doom scroll for hours" programing. Tons of features and settings, but very intuitive and easy to get started with. Leaving lots of room to tweak as you need. Thank you so much for putting this out there.

- Rated 5 out of 5by D G, 17 days agoAs I've gotten older, I've become a type of person who is the opposite of a "morning person". Right now I'm unemployed and I have a lot of people who still have jobs on Linkedin. When I wake up in the morning, I have a tendency to click into Linkedin and get a nasty dose of their smugness in my "feed". I've opted to block linkedin until after noon, when I'm more mentally focused and have thicker skin against that stuff. Honestly some of the things I see on Linkedin trigger my PTSD from a terrible job loss I recently had. The less time I spend on something like that, the better. I really like how it has the "override" function, where if I need to search for a few jobs or something like that, I can still unblock it for that temporarily.
Finally, I really like the ability to "write a message to yourself" that pops up when it blocks. I put something there that was inspiring and uplifting.
Thank you for making this addon. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18848777, 18 days ago
