* Performance improvements (especially over 7.5)
* You can now choose a font instead of Roboto!
* There's a pretty new login wallpaper!
ModernDeck 7.0 and above used a photo I took in Toledo, Spain
ModernDeck 8.0 uses a photo I took at Pont du Gard, France
Small changes:
* Improved Paperwhite and high contrast themes
* Moved Use alternative sensitive media workflow to Navigation section of Appearance. It's also enabled by default, if you keep sensitive media off
* App: Window controls are slightly bigger (Linux/Windows)
* Fixed bugs in safe mode from 7.x
* Disabled column visibility on Firefox by default because it doesn't have a noticeable performance gain like with Chrome
* The title is now displayed as ModernDeck instead of TweetDeck in the extension
* The language panel appears when you first start ModernDeck, upgrade from ModernDeck 7 to 8, or your system language changes.
* (Mostly) Fixed a long-standing issue where the cursor could jump around if you click reply and quickly start typing
* Fixed the moderndeck icon in the moderndeck vectors font being slightly rotated
* Color themes are now organised like a rainbow, instead of the strange layout it had before
* Updated the navigation drawer profile design
* The icon for Scheduling tweets has changed
Internal changes:
* TweetDeck now has a Content Security Policy capable of running ModernDeck. So the background script could be eliminated entirely, simplifying the low-level code ModernDeck uses.
* The build process is significantly different, MTDinject.js was just too big, and has been broken up into many different files, which are transpiled into moderndeck.js. Source maps are included in all versions.
* The source files are in /src
* Extension/common files are in /common
* What was MTDinject.js is now ModernDeckInit.js, but it's part of moderndeck.js now
* ITD.js -> popover.js
* MTDLoad.js -> content.js
* sources has been renamed back to resources for the first time since ModernDeck 5 or something
* UI controllers now have files and stuff beginning with UI
* Many UI controllers are now classes instead of just functions
* The GIF picker button is now integrated right into the mustache for the tweet composer, so there is less lag/delay when opening the panel
* The Emoji picker is currently not included, the one introduced in 7.5 had considerable performance issues on Chromiun-based browsers and the AppSource code released under The MIT License
