- Rated 4 out of 5by coitus, 7 years agoDoes what it advertises however I have a few gripes (this is feedback for 0.4pre5):
- after installing, it requires a page refresh to hide the comments
- there's no placeholder; sometimes I scroll down and forget the comments are blocked and wait for them to load (YouTube by default shows the same white space for a few seconds, even without the extension). Some text like "No comments here :)" would be helpful to remind me the comments are blocked
- also there's a typo :P "Prefrences" should be "Preferences" - Rated 5 out of 5by Chengings, 7 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Savannah, 7 years agoEdit: Disregard the review below. Previously I gave this three stars, but the add-on hasn't been updated in two years, and the beta versions I mentioned below have been removed. There's no indication that the developer is taking any steps to fix the issues with this add-on. Therefore I've reduced my rating to one star.
Previous review:
Pretty nice! This makes YouTubing a much less chaotic experience! Only gripes for the current release are: 1) "Hide Related videos and sidebar" also hides the playlist sidebar when you're watching a video in a playlist; 2) "Hide comments" also makes it impossible to view playlists themselves.
The beta versions I've tried (0.4pre3–0.4pre5) fix the latter issue. However, they also move the preferences from a toolbar button to the add-ons page. For this type of add-on I think that's a poor decision. If I'm watching a video, and suddenly decide I want to see the sidebar, I don't want to have to pause the video, open a new tab, and navigate to preferences in order to do that, and then do the same thing again when I want to hide the sidebar again. This is the kind of add-on where you should be able to change preferences on the fly. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13635276, 7 years ago

Unfortunately since Firefox Quantum came out I don't get it to work anymore :( I keep seeing those annoying comments which rarely contribute anything.
My specs: Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit, english version, Firefox Quantum (57.0 64-bit).
Have been using your add-on for months now and love it. Hope it will work again soon and if there's anything I'm doing wrong just let me now. Thanks!
EDIT: everything works fine again: no more useless comments. Thanks mate!
EDIT II: works fine on Windows 10 also :)Developer response

(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/no-youtube-comments/versions/beta) Now if I could get rid of the unwanted known "click-bait" channels that are in the video list to the right this thing will be back under MY control. ... Thank you for your work!

PLease try it and let me know if the problem persists.- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13269801, 7 years agoThank you for making this.
If I may suggest a feature: putting in an option to remove the 'enable/disable comments' button/keyboard shortcut you recently added, so that I'd have to go into the Add-On options if I REALLY want to see the comments. (I keep re-enabling comments thinking 'This is such an innocuous video that I'm sure there isn't any awful racist garbage in the comments THIS time' and 9 out of 10 times I'm wrong. :P)Developer response

Stay tuned for the next update this week.- Rated 5 out of 5by Arthur, 7 years agoFirst of all, Abdullah, just wanted to say - Great add-on. I've been using this for ages.
I must rate it 3/5 though because I don't have the choice to instantly disable/enable comments like I used to (by pressing CTRL + SHIFT + A, choosing No YouTube Comments add-on and enabling/disabling it) and arguably the best feature of this little tool is missing. Related videos removal. I'm going to uninstall this for now, as I have no use for it anymore. But I do recommend it to those, who simply want comments to be removed from videos. It does what it says perfectly.
EDIT: For those who might think that comments can be disabled/enabled now by simply clicking on the disable/enable button in the Add-ons page, my main "beef" is with the removal of the "hide related videos" feature.
EDIT 2: I created a Firefox account specifically to leave this review. I rate it 10/5 for the response. You should definitely give me a donation link!Developer response
