by mikeyg2, 2 years agoThis is great but has some "usability" issues:
1. you can't click the extension icon in the extensions bar - you need to click the clipboard icon in the address bad.
2. it leaves an extra tab with the obsidian link in it
these are minor annoyances - but give a good start.
Having it copy the whole page (and somehow convert it to markdown) is very cool and handy (for somethings), but overkill in others.
In the future, it would be extra cool to have this work like other clipping plugins to give some control (either the URL, the selection, ...)

it is very useful to collect data in Firefox!THANKS!
What the pity is:1.when i click "Clip enter page",i can't find the pictures and the link.2.can't set up the default folder to store the note. - Rated 1 out of 5by dejagerco, 2 years agoFF 107: It just does not work. At all.
I can add it, see it in toolbar but all functions are disabled. I can imagine a vault must be assigned for the plugin to work but there's no way to do so.
In this state the plugin is just cluttering the extensions repository. Please remove. - Rated 1 out of 5by zgorg, 2 years agoopen obsidian then errors. "can not contain (special characters). and no way to indicate what path file exactly? or is in the clipboard of obsidian? why people doing plugins don't give more help. I imagine you didn't this in 5 minutes...but it is not usable

The vault needs to be specified in the addon settings. I changed it from "Web" to my own "Obsidian Vault". The text clipping doesn't work, if I accidently selected an image. Clipping an entire page also only works, if it doesn't have images. Otherwise it works perfectly fine. It would be nice if the link would be automatically added as source in the text clippings. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12980425, 3 years agoDoesn't even appear as an icon in FF, so I can't even use it at all. No idea how I am supposed to clip a page.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15291844, 3 years agoWorks perfectly and really handy. You do need to have a vault called Web for it to function properly.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13472389, 3 years agoAs of 12/01/2021, the add-on only creates blank pages. The GitHub repo hasn't been touched in ten months so I imagine the project is dead.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Greg Stevens, 3 years agoWell done! Started using `MetaEdit` plugin to add YAML properties, going to see if this is open source and if I can modify it to add a `url` YAML property. Thank you!!! The page clip is amazingly clean. Especially used to bloated Evernote clipper, or having to use a 3rd party clipper for the increasingly-slow Notion. Yay Obsidian, and yay you!
