Browser Extension Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 27, 2019
I. Introduction:
The PACE Catalog Browser Extension (“PCBE”) is owned by AAM USA, Inc. (“AAM” or “The AAM Group” or “Company”), which is headquartered at 198 Industrial Park Road, Piney Flats, Tennessee.
The goal of the PCBE is to give its users a browsing experience integrated with the PACE website(s) of which they already have access. PCBE accomplishes its goal by allowing users to log in to a PACE website with their existing account credentials, search for products through the extension’s interface, and detect searches for products on search engines to show users matching products from the PACE website they are logged into.
II. Definition of Personal Data
Personal Data means any information concerning the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable individual such as account number, password, and authentication token. Non-personal data are all data that cannot be used to identify an individual, such as statistics about usage of a website.
III. Collection of Personal Data
User Account: in order to use the PCBE, a user must have an existing account with one of the PACE websites. Users are prompted to log in through the PCBE by providing account number and password.
Search Terms: the PCBE collects search terms entered through the extension’s interface and search terms entered on google.com, bing.com, and yahoo.com.
IV. Usage of Personal Data
The use of the PCBE Personal Data that we collect is used for: (i) retrieving product information from the PACE website that the user is logged into, and (ii) serving as your login credentials.
V. Transference of Personal Data
The personal data collected by the PCBE is only transferred in communications between the PCBE and the PACE website that the user is currently logged into.
VI. Storage of Personal Data
Authorization Token: When a user logs in through the PCBE, a unique authorization token will be stored in the local storage of the user’s browser so the login state can be recreated when they close the extension or browser.
Search Terms: any search that the user does through the PCBE, google.com, bing.com, or yahoo.com may be stored in a database and can be linked to the user’s account information. AAM stores this information to analyze and improve the relevance of search results that come from PACE websites.
VII. Sharing and Disclosure of Personal Data
AAM may, in some circumstances, share and disclose the personal data it collects through the PCBE with the warehouse distributors participating in PACE services, but only with the warehouse distributor that the account belongs to. Personal data belonging to an account with one participating warehouse distributor will not be shared with other warehouse distributors.
