About this extension
Take full control of your browser's audio. Whether a video is too quiet, poorly mixed, or you just want to blast your music, Per-Tab Volume Control gives you the tools to fix it instantly.

🚀 Key Features
- 🔊 500% Volume Boost: Blast past the system limit. Perfect for quiet YouTube videos, low-volume podcasts, or Zoom calls that are just too faint.
- 🎛️ Smart Audio Compressor: Automatically balances audio levels. It lowers loud explosions and boosts quiet dialogue, so you don't have to constantly reach for the volume knob.
- ✅ Per-Tab Isolation: Adjust the volume for one tab without affecting others. Listen to music in the background while watching a tutorial at a different volume.
- 🌐 Broad Compatibility: Works on most websites with HTML5 audio/video, including YouTube, Twitch, Spotify, Netflix, and more.
- 🔒 Privacy First: Runs 100% locally on your machine. No tracking, no data collection, no ads.

💡 How to Use the Audio Compressor (The "Night Mode" for Sound)
Think of the compressor as an automatic volume assistant. It smooths out the difference between the loudest and quietest parts of a video.
  1. Turn it On: Toggle the "Compressor" switch in the popup.
  2. Threshold (Sensitivity):
    • Slide Left (e.g., -30dB): The compressor becomes very sensitive. It will boost almost all quiet sounds. Great for movies with whispering dialogue.
    • Slide Right (e.g., -10dB): It only reacts to the very loudest spikes (like gunshots or screams).
  3. Ratio (Strength):
    • Low (e.g., 3:1): Gentle balancing. Keeps the audio sounding natural.
    • High (e.g., 12:1): Strong flattening. Makes everything sound roughly the same volume. Perfect for late-night watching so you don't wake the neighbors.

🔒 Privacy & Permissions
This extension prioritizes your privacy. It runs 100% locally on your machine and does not collect, store, or transmit any browsing data.

Why "Access your data for all websites"?
You may see a permission warning asking to "Access your data for all websites". This is not used to track you. It is required for the extension's "Always On" features:
- Seamless Player Sync: Automatically detects video players (like YouTube, Twitch, Spotify) as soon as you open a tab, ensuring the volume slider is always in sync.
- Instant Control: Allows the volume booster to work immediately without needing to manually activate the extension on every new tab.

Is this permission mandatory?
No. If you prefer stricter privacy, you can restrict the extension's access in your browser settings.
- If Enabled (Default): The extension works automatically on every tab.
- If Disabled: The extension becomes "Click-to-Activate". It will not access any site until you click the extension icon. Note that features like "Seamless Player Sync" will not work until you manually activate the extension for that specific tab.
