How to Use the Audio Compressor
The compressor is your secret weapon for balanced sound. It makes loud parts quieter and quiet parts easier to hear, creating a more consistent listening experience:
1. **Activate the Compressor** : Simply flip the "Compressor" switch to turn it on.
2. **Set the Threshold** : This slider determines at what volume the compressor kicks in. A lower threshold (e.g., -20 dB) means it will start working on quieter sounds. A higher threshold (e.g., -5 dB) means it will only affect the very loudest parts.
3. **Adjust the Ratio** : This controls how much the volume is reduced once it passes the threshold. A low ratio (like 2:1) provides gentle compression. A high ratio (like 18:1) will aggressively clamp down on loud sounds and better amplify quiet sounds.
