- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14999253, 6 years agoAbsolutely doesn't work. I'd just updated Firefox, and immediately afterwards added the Pinterest extension. Even with the absolutely most up to date Firefox browser and Windows 10, the extension just doesn't work. The first page I tried to post to my Travel page on Pinterest was https://auroraborealisobservatory.com/. While on the page, I clicked the Pinterest extension and absolutely nothing happened. No error message, no Pinterest confirmation, nothing at all. I even checked Pinterest, and it hadn't received the page. (duh - no surprise there!) The developers need to go back to the drawing board on this one, maybe. Since I use Pinterest so much, even though I prefer Firefox, I'm just going back to Chrome. The Pinterest extension works perfectly there, as it has for years. :(

posted 6 years agoI'm assuming you mean the browser button, when you say you clicked the Pinterest extension. I tried this page myself and it is full of some very large images; would you be willing to tell me where you are so I can try some network tricks?
Are you using more than one Pinterest account? Are you running any other extensions, such as Ghostery? Have you cleared cache lately? - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14999041, 6 years agoas lots of users, the button is not working anymore on firefox. it seems that the extension has an issue with getting my credentials, no boards are loaded in the pinterest window

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14963277, 6 years agoWhen I try to save an image it tells me "Oops-could not save this" and to "make sure I am logged in. (Sigh) I am signed in. Using latest version of Firefox. Like the lady before, Chrome will save every time. Firefox 0 Chrome 1. Disappointed.

EDIT: we are seeing a higher rate of expected failures on Firefox and are trying to run this down now. We think it might have something to do with other add-ons, specifically add-ons that might be changing cookies expiration times. Also, please tell me if you have Content Blocking set higher than Standard in about:preferences#privacy.
Very sorry to hear this. When you save from Chrome, are you using the current Save button, version 4.0.79? Are you running any other Firefox add-ons, anything that might be clearing your private data? - Rated 1 out of 5by Amanda, 6 years agoI'm able to pin fine from within Pinterest, but I seem to be getting the 'Oops...could not save this page' message each time I try to pin anything while outside it using the button. Haven't pinned anything for a few months now. This is happening on literally ALL images I attempt to pin. Had no problems a couple of months ago, something must have changed somewhere along the line.
I am able to pin fine using Chrome. But I don't use Chrome, I use Firefox!

In response to the Developer's reply below (it won't allow me to reply for some reason!)
I'm using a Mac OS High Sierra v 10.13.6, Firefox 66.0.5, I only save to one Pinterest account. Here are 2 URLs I just tried... https://www.amandaclegg.co.uk/portfolio/great-man-not-good-man/

Hi again. Saving to My digtial art yes, and my Yummly page. Both public. But it happens whichever board I try to save to. Curiously if I use the Pinterest in the social media buttons along the bottom on the image page, it works ok that way.
Content blocking is set at standard. In add-ons I have Ghostery and Autofill but that's it. I tested them out by disabling the add-ons, cleared my cache, but still couldn't save with the button.
9:20 Further to my last message, my partner came along to see what the problem was. I cleared my cache (again) and while in my website, he told me to 'shift refresh'. This seemed to solve the issue! I tried some random websites and I can now save using the Pinterest button again. Thanks for your assistance.Developer response
posted 6 years agoEDIT 4: please try again with v4.0.80?
EDIT 3: we will take a look at Ghostery, thanks. Can you please say what your Ghostery settings are?
EDIT 2: can you say if you are running any other Firefox add-ons? Anything having to do with cookies or clearing private data? Also, please tell me if you have Content Blocking set higher than Standard in about:preferences#privacy. Could you please tell me the name of the board you're trying to save to? Is it a public or private board? (I thought it might be /my-digital-art/, but I can't find it anywhere in logs.)
EDIT: thanks for the links! I am able to save from both sites, but amandaclegg.co.uk is loading very slowly for me from San Francisco; what does your load time look like?
Sorry about that. Would you mind saying what OS (Mac, Windows) and version of Firefox you're using? Do you save to more than one Pinterest account? Can you please give me one or two URLs that are definitely not working for you right now, so I can try them out? - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14953949, 6 years agoIt does not work for me. I get the following message when I try to pin something: "Sorry, something's not quite right here. Please check that you are logged into Pinterest and try again." It doesn't seem to matter what website I'm trying to pin from. I'm using 66.0.5 on a 2017 MacBook Pro (10.14.4 Mojave). I added the extension today. (I had an older version of the extension that worked, but I deleted it.)
EDIT: I log in with email. I cleared cookies and tried logging in again, but still get the error message. I don't know what account switching is so don't know whether I'm using it.Developer response
posted 6 years agoEDIT: please try again with v4.0.80?
EDIT: are you seeing the error after the image picker comes up, you see your boards, and you choose Save to pick one? Do you ever share your computer with another Pinterest user?
I'm testing on your exact setup -- had to restart to apply v66.0.5 -- and I can't reproduce what's happening for you. How are you signing in to Pinterest, please? (Facebook, e-mail, Google, something else?)
If you're switching accounts in one tab after you bring up the image picker in another tab, you're going to see that something's-not-quite-right problem; are you doing that? If not, sorry if these are obvious questions, but: are you sure you're signed in to Pinterest? Are you using account switching?
Would you mind clearing all cookies and trying again with a fresh login to Pinterest? - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14789622, 6 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by cill, 6 years agoThe Pinterest button doesn't work on firefox when I try to post from Etsy and Artfire. The same thing happens when using their buttons off of their sites. After filling in the description, I get an Oops, could not save this page, error. Very frustrating. This has been this way for quite some time.
IDK how to respond to the developer other than edit my review here. Are you on a mac? I'm on 10.12.6 and cannot update due to perifs. I just tried it again and it did not work, got the Oops again: https://www.etsy.com/listing/701215899/euruopean-robin-painting-bird-lovers?ref=shop_home_active_2&frs=1Developer response
posted 6 years agoUpdate: Editing your review works fine, thanks. Yes, I'm on a Mac. What version of Firefox and our extension are you running, please? (I was able to save your Etsy listing just now.) Are you switching Pinterest accounts, by any chance? If so, please try restarting Firefox.
If you are getting the same error from the Pinterest back end when you try to save using Artfire's button, it's not a problem we can fix with the browser extension. Can you please give me an URL or two to test? I was just able to successfully save from here: https://www.artfire.com/ext/shop/product_view/14691496 - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14777430, 6 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14748980, 6 years agoNot working at all on Etsy. I'm using Firefox 66.02 (64 bit) and just added the Pinterest button today - version 4.0.77. This is very frustrating since Etsy has removed the social media links (a seller can post their own from internal link) for the public to pin products.
Developer response
posted 6 years agoI'm able to save from Etsy's front page, individual seller pages, and product pages. May I please have an URL or two to try out? Also, are you using the browser button or a context menu or hovering Save button? - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14721504, 6 years ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by karen48, 6 years agoUPDATE: 1/30/2020 Same issue again! I'm using Firefox 72.0.2 now. Pinterest button not working. What's up? I always have to go to Chrome when things break on Firefox. Upsetting. This time it is exactly as described by previous post by Stamper: "The save process begins when I click the button but after selecting an image I only have the option to create a new board - none of my existing boards come up in a list like before - and attempting to create a new board does not work either; I end up with an error message and no new board. I've removed and reinstalled the button several times, logged in and out and in to my Pinterest account. It just won't work in Firefox anymore."
Works on Chrome.
Pinterest button is not working on Instagram. I'm on the page where the image is, I click the Pin button, the entire page goes dark, like it is covered with a dark transparent film and I cannot choose any image to save. I have used the Pin button on Instagram for years and it has worked fine. It still works on Chrome but not Firefox. This just began a few days ago, after the Firefox update. The Pin button is 4.0.75. Firefox is 66.0.1. Please correct this! ( I did remove the Pin button and then install again.)
UPDATE: Still not working. Today trying it on http://www.whiterockgallery.com/phil-buytendorp/ No Joy. Unless I use Chrome!
UPDATE 4/3/19: YOU DID IT! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I am pinning from Instagram and other sites today, using Firefox! I appreciate your work and perseverance!Developer response
posted 6 years agoEdited again: that's great, thanks! Any chance we can get more than one star on your review?
We can reproduce this, both on and off Instagram. It seems to be associated with Firefox 66.
Edited: fix is up, please look for 4.0.76. Thanks again for the detailed report!
Working on a fix now but it's going to be a couple of days at least. We have had some luck reloading the page or pressing Esc to close the overlay and pressing the browser button or hovering Save button again, but it's inconsistent.
Thanks so much for the detailed report! - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14712659, 6 years ago

I've just tested that page with our extension and it works for me. Would you please confirm that you are running the Pinterest Save Button extension published by Pinterest, Inc? The version should be 4.0.75 and not something starting with a 2. There is another extension with the exact same name that comes up higher in search results, and it does nothing when I try to save from centralmarket.com. - Rated 1 out of 5by jean pierre, 6 years ago14/01/2020

Edited: fix is up, please look for v4.0.76.
Edited: I'm pretty sure this is about the bug on 4.0.75 where the Save form wasn't rendering. Fix is coming! - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14669753, 6 years agoDoesn't do anything when I click the icon.

posted 6 years agoThat's not good. Can you please share what page you were trying to save? Also, can you please share the extension version number? Should be at least 4.0.75.
EDIT: This page works for me but only when I wait for it to load completely. Even then it takes a really long time between when I click the icon and the grid of images that can be saved to Pinterest comes up. When I look at it with a Web inspector I see that there are quite a few network requests and warnings in the console, which can interfere with the extension logic.
I know this isn't a great answer, but in cases like these it's usually best to use the hovering Save button. Sorry about that; if this is your page I will be happy to chat more about what may be going on. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14664035, 6 years ago
