Popup Blocker (strict) by Jeremy Schomery

by García y García, 7 years agoLoved the idea and cleanliness, but then it pushed all 8 cores of an i7 7700K to 100% just to block a single pop up site. It seems to be a problem with FF Quantum itself, though. Try it on TPB, click on the search bar of that site as if you were to input some text and check for yourself!.
After trying different ones came back to this one!. Thanks to the developer.

- Rated 5 out of 5by PJ, 12 days agoHey, thanks for your extension! It stopped working under current Firefox, until you use the "pin to toolbar" option as per .... support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/extensions-button#w_manage-pinned-extensions
It used to work out of the box, but I still liked having the button added by "customize toolbar" but that option was completely replaced by this right-click option. Please check this, as I think you're not aware of it. BTW I use current ultramarine Linux with ff v133.0.3 .. I think without the icon, the extension can't notify and so decides not to block at all ... :( - Rated 1 out of 5by malisipi, 16 days ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by Homar H, 3 months agoIt's really efective, thank you! However I'd like to know if there's a plan to add a blacklist function, since I currently only need this for 1 website and it's pretty annoying having to whitelist every other site (if there's a way to do this already in the settings please let me know and I'll happily change my review).
I also think the UI of the dialogue boxes could be improved, and would appreciate a lot a dark mode for the settings page. - Rated 1 out of 5by simitra1321, 3 months ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 15758698, 3 months agoWorked perfectly for me until today's update. I could not use my Roundcub webmail while this AddOn was installed, I had to remove it and everything worked perfectly after. There must be some conflict there.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18629924, 3 months agoIt was working at first, then it suddenly decided to be globally disabled, despite the box for the option being checked. Now I have to manually turn globally enabled on and off on a website for the blocker to work again. Even then, once I leave that page or website it goes back to being globally disabled all over again. I shouldn't need to do that on a popup blocker.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13351021, 3 months agoSo effective in catching those stray popups that the regular popup blocker would miss!
But I wish the popup blocked prompt had two "trust" buttons: trust the source domain, and trust the destination domain. - Rated 5 out of 5by michael, 4 months ago
