Privacy Redirect by Simon Brazell

posted 5 years agoHi thanks for the feedback, I really should have communicated this change better.
The change to permissions was unfortunately required to allow embedded videos within iframes which were not working properly prior to this change. The reason full URL access is needed for this particular fix is because prior to this the extension was only listening for requests that originate from youtube, so if a request was made from an iframe embedded within a different site this extension would not see it and so would not redirect embedded youtube videos as expected.
The discussion for this change can be found here on the project repo:

I hope this helps to clear things up, and apologies for the lack of explanation.

Ne fontionne pas pour les redirections vers Invidious lorsque le lien "Youtube" est" "youtube-nocookies" ex :
https://www.youtube-nocookie.com https://www.youtube.com https://s.ytimg.com;; frame-src 'self' https://www.youtube-nocookie.com https://www.youtube.com;
Hi,,
Redirection to Invidious doesn't work with "youtube-nocookies" links ex :
https://www.youtube-nocookie.com https://www.youtube.com https://s.ytimg.com;; frame-src 'self' https://www.youtube-nocookie.com https://www.youtube.com;

- Rated 2 out of 5by Douginamug, 2 years agoA good add-on, but no longer maintained. Youtube redirects don't respect browser autoplay settings, and play on load - annoying!
This add-on was forked and continues to be maintained as LibRedirect: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ - Rated 5 out of 5by priyanshurai, 2 years ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17863908, 2 years agoI use this on Icecat and it works. So I installed it on Waterfox from addons.mozilla.org...cue the "Is this the same addon?" This version almost none of the redirects work. Sketchy buy this domain domains, 404's, "Can't connect yada yada." That is annoying but after a while I also noticed I'd load a site and just out of no where this started redirecting me to other domains for no reason. For example checking out something on AMD's website and BLAM it's sending me to connect.cafe which is dead and insecure. Often times it will redirect you to Facebook domains and other things the plugin is supposed to be explicitely avoiding...

Little known features that some may not be aware of - you can put _any_ URL in the addon settings for each of the sites, you are not restricted to the specific front-ends listed here. Ex - You can use any piped instance instead of invidious for youtube. Using firefox nightly, you can also use this on mobile! - Rated 4 out of 5by plex, 2 years agoPas mal du tout :)
Sinon super idée, merci :) - Rated 5 out of 5by Adam, 2 years ago
