by Olivier, 5 years agoi am sure you got it right.
2 issues but i know this can be pain when you develop a new app:
- think of writing down some GDPR compliances in your privacy policy.
it helps
-> IMPORTANT !!! ???
the addon remains
- removed from the toolbar, and
- not listed in the overflow menu for the addons
Check this out this is a major bug,
i use the last version of firefox.
Thank you!!

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13970243, 8 months agoGreat extension, but...
1. I noticed that it doesn't work on some websites due to Content-Security-Policy. I had to use a few tricks to make it work and I have a few ideas on how to solve this.
2. I added volume control in the options.
do you have a git repo? - Rated 1 out of 5by Luna, 9 months agoDidn't work. Wish there were buttons so I could at least know I'm interacting with the app/ pressing r just tried to print to PDF
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18032582, a year agoI can hear every word, Yes!!!!!! Good lord I love this app, and the best part of this is it DOES NOT sound like a ROBOT. I am so excited if you struggle in reading this is the app for you!!!
- Rated 5 out of 5by CID, 2 years agoExcellent! One suggestion: my browsers are all in black, the black read aloud icon is also black, sometimes hard to find, suggest gray? or multiple choice colors? Thanks for the app!!
- Rated 5 out of 5by No Fold Media Ltd, 3 years agoPerfect for what I was after. The voice used for playback makes makes it very usable.
What would take it to the next level is:
- word highlight to see where you were in the text
- option to tab to the next node in the DOM
Thank you. - Rated 1 out of 5by Christina, 3 years agoNot sure what I'm doing wrong here. I highlight the text, press r, nothing happens. I downloaded a different reader prior to this and it definitely worked on this webpage, even without me highlighting particular text, but I couldn't stand the voice so I searched elsewhere (here). Too bad I can't even test the voice out.

- Rated 2 out of 5by BusyB06, 4 years agoI liked the voice and the intonation but it only worked once when I first installed it.
- Rated 1 out of 5by HiddenPalm, 4 years agoNo option to use my own TTS, only the cheap google or microsoft robotic voices. Uninstalling.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 5717387, 4 years agoThis plugin does exactly what is says without too many frills. Some more config would be good. But it works really like a charm!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Dizabel Jeys, 4 years agoIn fact, exactly what I was surching, my compliments for the Romanian voice reader. But after some minutes it just stopped working. I don't know what to do.

I would try to remove the addon and install it again and see if that solves the issue. If it still does not work please let me know what your settings are so that I can help with troubleshooting. - Rated 5 out of 5by TechNyquist, 5 years agoIt does exactly what it says: select text, push "r" button, ear the selected text read aloud. Trigger button is also customizable, and that's great.
Could not give 5 stars because by now it's missing control on playback (no GUI, stop key, other languages than english and so on), but as basic functionality is good. Take it as a good starting point. Keep it up and thank you.
UPDATE: responsive! Indeed it is much better with stop key. And languages you added just work fine, thank you! Are you asking for some improvementes? Well few come to mind, see if you can deal with them :)
- detection of also meta-keys for keybind (Ctrl, Alt, so on) might be useful
- fast switch between languages (often I find myself switching between Italian and English websites), because visiting options page everytime is time-consuming; language auto-detection would be awesome, but don't know if it's even possible to do (maybe scanning for page language in HTML lang?).
These two not-so-simple two points would definitely value a five-star for me. Thank you for your work and time.
UPDATE: well, you rock! No I was not notified for the comment update but I stumbled upon options by myself and noticed the update, and here I am. Tried auto-detection right away and it's working amazingly by now. You absolutely deserve your 5 stars. Don't know about meta-key binding but it's not important for the stars. You have my support and hype. Well done!Developer response
posted 5 years agoHi TechNyquist
Thank you for the interest and review of the addon. I have published a new version (1.3) with a stop keybind and 10 new languages.
I would love to hear if there are any other suggestion that would improve your experience with the addon.
Update: Hi again TechNyquist
Not sure if this update will notify you but I have published a new version (1.4) with the ability to toggle auto-detection as you suggested. Please try it out and let me know if you face any issues.
Update 2: Hi
Glad the new feature works :) I will look into the meta-key issue that you raise when I get the time.
If you have any other ideas let me know and I will see what I can do. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15356903, 5 years ago
