by Firefox user 13741482, 7 years agoThe extension technically works as described. However, there are a few annoying issues that make it hard to use sometimes:
1. Sometimes, a video will be posted multiple times to the same subreddit. This extension seems to only grab one result per subreddit. This is a problem because more often than not the result this extension grabs is not the most popular thread for the video on that particular sub. In other words, you watch the video, and you get the r/videos thread with 12 upvotes and 3 comments, then you head over to reddit and find the same video posted on the front page with 1000+ upvotes and 100+ comments. This extension should either show the most upvoted thread per subreddit, or show all the threads for a subreddit, instead of choosing one and often times getting it wrong.
2. Sometimes this extension says there are no results on reddit, even though there definitely are. It's funny that the author chose a Game Grumps video as an example, since that subreddit has a bot that automatically posts every Game Grumps video to their subreddit, meaning every GG video should have a result, yet some of their videos will show no results despite a thread definitely existing on reddit. Same thing happens with Rooster Teeth/Achievement Hunter/Let's Play videos, which also have a bot auto-posting their vids to the RT subreddit. I've lost track of how many times I've watched a video with supposedly "no results", and headed over to that channel's subreddit to find a thread for the video on the front page.
I imagine both of those issues might have something to do with the many different ways you can link to a YouTube video on reddit (ex: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ -OR- https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ). The author needs to solve these issues for this extension to be perfect.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15018726, 4 years agoDoesn't seem to work on the Classic YouTube layout with Polymer disabled anymore, which makes it functionally useless to me. It's served me well for a while, but it unfortunately doesn't work anymore.

Works fine but totally hides youtube comments, so if a creator leaves a link in the comments or you need to see them for whatever reason you must entirely disable the plugin to see them.Developer response
posted 5 years agoYou can customize how the addon works, including adding a button to show YouTube comments and changing which comments display by default. Under Reddit on YouTube on Firefox's addon page, select the three dots, then select options. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13265294, 5 years agoWorked well up until today. I think youtube redesigned the comment section again.

- Rated 5 out of 5by BlizzardFenix, 5 years agoEDIT: I found the way to toggle it: You have to select "options" after clicking on the three dots in the firefox addon page. Now this addon is great and does exactly what you need it to do.
Old review:
It does a good job of showing the reddit comments, but the inability to switch between reddit and youtube comments makes this extention useless for less popular videos. Note that there is a checkbox to toggle this per channel, however this doesn't seem to do anything for me. - Rated 4 out of 5by John01, 5 years ago
- Rated 2 out of 5by NostraDavid, 5 years agoFor some reason I can't hide the Reddit comments on the newest version of YouTube.
It does show the Reddit posts, but if it shows "No posts found" I definitely can't hide the reddit part and show the YT comments :( - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12458607, 5 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by JackH3103, 6 years agoGreat add-on. Allows you to switch between different reddit posts and the youtube comments with minimal lag.

posted 6 years agoI've toyed around with different display settings, but I could not reproduce your alignment issue. Please take a screenshot and include some details like Firefox version and other addons that may be affecting the YouTube layout and create an issue here: https://github.com/mustafakalash/royt/issues - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12700628, 6 years ago
