About this extension
A lightweight Firefox extension that removes the srsltid query parameter from URLs automatically.

What it does

When a URL contains srsltid, the extension immediately redirects the current browser tab to the same URL without that parameter.

Example:

Test URL: https://www.pyur.com/privat/internet/dsl?srsltid=AfmBOoqeXJScgTdFW0i1JAQFhd6yeRA9NzpExDTEHvj7-pndRtlFsw2Y

becomes:

https://www.pyur.com/privat/internet/dsl

Other URL parameters are kept unchanged.

Why Google adds the srsltid parameter

Google mainly uses srsltid for Merchant Center auto-tagging.
The parameter is added to destination URLs when users click on product-related or shopping-related results from Google. Google states that when someone clicks on a product in Google Search that leads to an online store, auto-tagging adds additional information to the URL, specifically the srsltid parameter. This helps attribute website purchases and key events more accurately to Merchant Center and connected Google Analytics data.
