Safad AI Extension – Developer Notes

This extension is a vanilla JavaScript add-on with no build tools, bundlers, or minifiers.
All source files are human-readable and submitted as-is.

Architecture

api.js – Backend HTTP client with mutex-protected token refresh
background.js – Service worker for session management
popup.js – UI controller (login, chat, tools, library tabs)
storage.js – Secure session storage wrapper
hmac.js – HMAC request signing for AI endpoints

Backend

API: https://api.safad.eu
Auth: JWT with RS256, body-based refresh token (no cookies in extension)
AI requests are HMAC-signed for additional security
