About this extension
Scribbly makes quick notes effortless while you browse. Use the popup to write a note tied to the current page or add ideas to a global scratchpad. When you want notes in view, open the optional on-page overlay and keep typing without switching tabs. Notes are saved to your browser only. You can enable autosave, set the overlay’s font size, and choose its dimensions so it feels just right.
Under the hood, Scribbly keeps permissions lean. It uses activeTab to inject the overlay only when you ask for it, tabs to read the active page’s URL and title for page-specific notes, and storage to keep your notes and options. There are no inline scripts, no unsafe innerHTML, no remote resources, and no analytics. All code is bundled and self-hosted to comply with AMO policies.
