by graz, 3 years agoHey man, I love this extension and get quite a bit of use out of it. I just have one question maybe you can help me with if you have a minute.
Under the 'Advanced' tab of the preferences page for ScrollAnywhere is a 'Prevent big jumps' checkbox which says "If you are using tool that can teleport your cursor across the screen...".
Assuming I'm correctly understanding what that means, my question is if you know of what specific tool I would need to get in order to facilitate this? Would it be an extension, or is there perhaps some about:config setting in Firefox itself which easily enables that kind of functionality?
Sorry if it's a really obvious answer, but I'm finding it really hard to word my Google queries in a way that it understands what I'm trying to ask.
Thanks again, and thank you for making this really great piece of software. The preferences menu in particular is super intuitive and easy to understand while still being really powerful. Mad respect to you :)

posted 3 years agoHello,
It was some king of "infinite scroll" software...
Oh, I found the email from the user that requested it, he mentioned this:
https://www.ghacks.net/2020/04/06/customize-the-mouse-pointers-movement-and-behavior-with-winmouse/
But I'm not using it myself, I'm not even sure if I tried it :)
Anyway, I hope this helps!
Have a nice week :)

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 10675550, 6 months agoFantastic add-on. I'm glad this exists and is maintained :) I use this all the time.
I just want to say, recently I had to re-enable it (using the Toolbar Icon, even though it was showing green. Re-enabling the add-on itself made no difference). Perhaps some of the recent negative reviews were experiencing this issue. Developer response
posted 6 months agoHello,
It works by pressing middle mouse button and dragging mouse up/down.
Note that it won't work HERE, on this addons store page (as a security measure, all addons are blocked here).
It's best to test the scrolling in the Options page.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Ran, 6 months agoIt's been randomly buggy for a good while, but today it became a complete mess. Scrolling position is almost never remembered when switching tabs back and forth, moving the position around, sometimes rolling it back to a previous position, sometimes seemingly at random, and sometimes it manages to create impossible situations like a zoomed picture ending up with blank edges from over-scrolling past the entire picture.
Sadly it seems to be the only functioning addon that does what it does, but it desperately needs an update.Developer response
posted 6 months agoHello Ran,
There have not been any update mostly because everything works same as before, and there were not a lot of new feature requests.
Note that "remembering scroll position" is not something that would my addon do. It only scrolls the page as a direct result of user action (mouse move while scrolling button is down). I think browser should remember scroll position automatically.
Also "zoomed picture" is very unlikely related to this addon.
And over-scrolling is again, something a page should handle (some pages are badly designed with overflowing elements outside the boundaries).
Maybe you have also some other scroll related addons that breaks these?
