What the hell is wrong with you?
This piece of garbage is not free because it's a paid service?
And are you're you kidding me !!!!!
We require you to sign = Uninstalled!
Whatever you like or no!!!!Developer response
posted 2 years agoHi,
The OCR (text detection) for the extension costs us to run, so we need a sign in mechanism to prevent a single person using the extension as many times as they want, and costing us a ton of money. Is this not understandable to you? I get that you don’t like signing in, but there really is no good alternative for us to sustainably run the extension.
Vinny from Selectext - Rated 1 out of 5by CDavis, 2 years agoI uninstalled the add-on *days* ago, I've cleared my browser cache, and yet somehow I am still getting the little selectext button on videos on youtube and twitter.
Developer response
posted 2 years agoHi CDavis,
That is very strange, I am confused as to how it could be showing up still as well. Any tabs that were already open when the extension was still installed would probably need to be refreshed for the toggle to stop coming up. Assuming it is still showing up on newly created tabs, you could try install and uninstall the extension again, or close firefox completely.
Thanks,

Developer response
posted 2 years agoHi,
You are correct, you can now use it 15 times per day for free, and to get 100 uses per day you need to upgrade.
We would have loved to keep it fully free but we need some way to pay server costs.
You can upgrade by opening the extension popup menu by clicking the extension icon in the top right of the browser. You should see a button 'Upgrade to get more credits' which will take you to https://selectext.app/portal/upgrade where you can upgrade. Otherwise you can directly go to the link also.
Thanks,

posted 2 years agoThanks for the review! It would be great to hear anything that you think doesn't work well at the moment so we can continue to improve the extension.- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14182454, 2 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by BladeMaker, 3 years agoAlmost excellent and it's the only extension that works so well with ocr/youtube but the problem is when copy and pasting it comes out as for example:
"按
门铃
吧"
instead of:
"按 门铃 吧"
This can be a big difference in google translate.Developer response
posted 2 years agoThanks for the review! I have just pushed an update to the extension which adds 'single-line' and 'multi-line' modes in the extension popup (opened via clicking on the extension icon in the top right of the browser). The 'single-line' mode should work better for your use case, as everything will be copied onto a single line.
Cheers,

- Rated 5 out of 5by Anosema, 3 years agoReally nice, works all the time but something can be annoying:
If the text is under the youtube's navigation bar, selectionning it can be a bit hard
