About this extension
Analyze job postings, highlight keywords, and generate cover letters from your own paragraph blocks.

Simple Job Apply streamlines the creation of job applications by analyzing job postings for defined keywords and assembling the corresponding prepared paragraphs into a coherent draft. It accelerates the most time‑consuming tasks:
- Reviewing position requirements
- Drafting a tailored cover letter

Steps:
- Start by creating your paragraphs with text and relevant keywords
- Search for jobs on a job portal
- (optional) Save interesting jobs for later, track the application status
- Generate a cover letter based on the highlighted keywords
- Paste the result into Word and make final adjustments

Please visit https://daniel.mailbase.info/#/projects/simple-job-apply-extension for a video describing the whole process from start to finish in only 2 minutes.

Features:
- combine images / pdfs to a single pdf suited as job application
- enter keywords and automatically scan any web page, highlighting them
special
- LinkedIn support allows to automatically scan a job posting once it is opened (reload the page if that is not working)
- generate a cover letter with pre-entered paragraphs, tayloring it by using only paragraphs whose keywords appear in the job posting
- save jobs with custom information and application status for later (on
LinkedIn all the relevant job information is automatically extracted)
Developer comments
  • If highlighting on LinkedIn doesn't work, try reloading the page once, then it should work.
  • Manual highlighting should work on all websites. If you want to add automatic highlighting to other job websites, you can add a site rule under Job Analyzer -> Settings -> Site Rules. You just need to analyze the html and identify the html element that contains the job posting.
I would much appreciate it if you could share these rules with me (I have added a Save button), so I can make them available for everyone! Thank you!
