Simple Tab Groups by Drive4ik

by Socram Lizarb, 2 years agoSo far this has been the BEST Firefox tab grouping add-on I've found. I must say that I was really looking for a chrome-like tab grouping addon functionality. Grouping tabs by color and quickly group and ungroup them was the only I was looking for, but for some reason it's hard to find.
For me, FF is a way better browser than Chrome and its chromium-based alternatives, but I must say when it comes to tab grouping, FF is ages in the dark.
Tab trees with their own panels, addons capable of coloring tabs which will not actually get colored, but rather the subtabs within another Tab Trees addon, more different panels with stylish presentation of tabs as if I was using Canva or PowerPoint (I'm clealy referring to Panorama) were among the issues I was facing on my journey to find a simple and clean tab grouping addon.
Fortunately I've found this one that doesn't actually does what I want (which was grouping them in the tab panel at the tome by color), but also does it amazingly by packing them on the backend, and you can quickly switch between your tab groups by clicking on the navigation menu, or setting up your own shortcuts.
It also gives you the possibility to customize the group names, colors and even icons if you want.
I must really thank you guys for this addin which I came to understand that it's even better than the way it's done on Chrome.
This feature is really important to me and I was almost quitting using Firefox due to the lack of decent alternatives.
This addon is even better.
I highly recommend giving this one a try!

- Rated 3 out of 5by fastjan, 4 days agoDay 3 and it wiped out all tabs (except one). Tabs on bookmark-backup gone, folders do remain. From restore backup, yesterdays backup didn't work (it showed that it would have the tabs, but nothing. 2 days ago backup did work.
Only automatic backup option is one-file-a-day (erases previous same day backup)
Update: seems like "yesterday"-backup worked after some other backup worked. - Rated 5 out of 5by Satria, 5 days ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by AlDragonex, 18 days agoTabs gone after Firefox close.
It happened right after all groups just deleted itself and all 100+ tabs were on main view.
BUT
I just noticed that this extension is making backups every day by default. Due to this, I was able to restore all of the lost tabs.
So am changing rating from 1/5 to 5/5.
That's literally what I need from such extension. Keep up the good work! - Rated 3 out of 5by catto24, 20 days agoWorks as it says, but it keeps downloading files automatically into folders similarly named "STG-backups-FF-137.0.1".
Why does it do this? How do I make it stop? - Rated 5 out of 5by flys, 22 days agoPlease continue working on it. This add-on is much more convenient than the Chrome-inspired, brand-new built-in tab groups feature.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13519681, 23 days agoVery good extension, but it have a very big bug:
When you delete an group, all tabs from all groups are remove. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18925260, 25 days ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by snorful, 25 days agoAdd-on suddenly stopped working, which was quite a disappointment.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18922131, a month agoLegit kept hiding my taps and I couldn't make groups show on the tab list
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17267198, a month agoWorks absolutely as expected, extremely useful to me, very happy with that extension.
Only one complaint: I want better control over the folder where backups are created! Because my Downloads folder is clogged with tens of STG folders of different versions... - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 12977965, a month agoIts nothing Simple. The using give no effects. I'am nowhere see groups.
