Simple Tab Groups by Drive4ik

by fraterboots, 9 days agoIt never ceases to amaze me how developers will put so much work into a tool, and then make it completely unintuitive and impossible to use for the most simple and obvious use case.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Ally Simy, 14 hours agohundreds of tabs gone, backup refused to do anything and now I need to manually add all of them back.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Patrick, 2 days agoVery difficult & unintuitive to use. I've had tabs mysteriously disappear or become hidden (with no bulk way to revert) by simply clicking through different group management options.
There is significant risk to losing work or losing tabs, I've found.
I'm now in the process of carefully un-doing my groups so as to not lose my tabs :( - Rated 1 out of 5by Zwieback74, 3 days agoIt deleted and closed all my tab = part of my digital life :((
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15037318, 4 days agoThe usability of this addon SUCKS BIG TIME. And I am an advanced user of software tools!!! You should clearly explain how to use this addon in details because IT IS NOT OBVIOUS AT ALL.
More in 1 stars reviews, several people indicate that this addon does not work from firefox version 134.
I tried to use it because I could not figure it out quickly. I could have tried to spend more time but I simply gave up when I saw the reviews indicating that it does not work from version 134.
In screenshot, put a detailed explanation. What is there is completely insufficient.
Thanks for the addon nevertheless. - Rated 5 out of 5by flatus, 5 days ago
Rated 1 out of 5by ComputerUser49, 5 days agoI made a profile on the Firefox add-on store just to write this review.
WARNING:
As of January 13th 2025, this add-on is broken. (Firefox version 134) After you restart Firefox, all of your open tabs will be gone, with seemingly no way to restore them. Until this issue is fixed, I recommend staying away.
As for the add-on itself:
It's alright, but I don't like that the groups are in a separate window, unlike for example Chrome's tab groups; the extra 5 seconds to access grouped tabs make it just a bit too annoying to use. It's somewhat usable for what it's supposed to do - or at least it would be, if it wasn't horribly broken... - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 16005251, 8 days ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Gongloss, 8 days agoUnfortunately must concur with the other recent 1-star review. This extension doesn't appear to do anything useful in FF 134. It adds the menu for picking colors, but it doesn't color the tabs in any way.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Martin, 11 days agoSimply Rubbish would be a better title. Utterly confusing, duplicates tabs at will, adds tabs to groups that I haven't selected. Haven't found 1 part of this that actually works properly. Zero stars would be more appropriate. A user guide would be extremely helpful! We aren't all computer nuts and have the time to mess with this. We need to get on and work....
- Rated 1 out of 5by Viaiaia, 16 days agoIT DELETED ALL MY WORK!!! It's not easy to handle at ALL. For some reason, as soon as I downloaded it, the extension deleted my pdf full of work that was NOT SAVED, and that's was due in two days. If you wanna group your tabs just go to Chrome because this is NOT WORTH IT!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15201003, a month agoудалила последнюю вкладку сочетанием ctrl+w и он закрыл фаерфокс и все вкладки...

- Rated 4 out of 5by noahc3, a month agoVery nearly what I'm looking for... the only thing I really want is to have tab groups visible in the sidebar in an accordion style rather than groups that you need to "move into". I would like to be able to see all tabs across multiple (or all) groups in the sidebar at once - I don't mind how exactly this is implemented behind the scenes, it could still use group context switching and such when I click between tabs in different groups. But being able to open and see tabs from multiple groups at once would provide feature parity with tab grouping in other browsers (not to mention all the extra features this addon provides on top of that), especially now that we can use the sidebar effectively as a replacement for the default Firefox tab list.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18248909, a month agoReally great. I got comfortable with it and had hundreds of tabs saved in different groups (I like how when you open the browser it has the tabs saved but only loads the tabs you actually go to in that session to save CPU usage and memory, and you can close Firefox and reopen it if you have too many loaded in memory). When some error caused it to lose all the tabs, I simply restored the backup because of the extension's nifty automatic backup. The only problem is there is no way to allow it access to files on my device, so if I'm viewing pdfs in a different tab group, and then go to that group, I can't see the pdfs again unless I manually copy the file path into the address bar to load them again, which gets tedious if I'm viewing several pdfs in various tabs for school. They should add the ability to grant that permission so that it will smoothly reopen pdfs just like it smoothly reopens websites. Fix that and 5 stars!
