- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14182926, 6 years agoDevelopment now advanced far enough for this add-on to be a reliable replacement for the old tab groups extension, but latest version drops ability to denote current group through color of toolbar icon--an inconvenience.

Thanks for your feedback - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14182514, 6 years agoFinally a really good alternative to my old tab groups. It's optically pleasing and I didn't discover major flaws yet.
One minor error though: When using the Amazon fav icon as a group icon (right click on tab > set icon for group) it does show up on the usual STG icon but not when I click that icon to show the group overview. There it will show a not-found-icon. So far I could only reproduce this with Amazon (GER). - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14182310, 6 years agoIt's the first time I even bother to write a review. This is the best tab management tool and I tried tens of them. It's even better (simpler and faster) than the original one it's mentioning as inspiration.
I've been using it for a few days now and didn't see any bugs. - Rated 5 out of 5by LuckyDuck, 6 years ago5 stars for the superb effort in getting this add-on up to par with the old Tab Groups (and surpassing it in some ways)! Must have been a huge challenge with FFQ, I can imagine. I use tab groups every day for work to help keep everything organized. Don't know what I'd do without it. Keep up the great work!

- Rated 4 out of 5by Greg K Nicholson, 7 years agoThis is a very useful extension. I wouldn't say it's simple, but it is powerful.
It's useful to be able to move tabs into groups based on their URLs; I use this to separate different projects so that I can switch context between them.
It doesn't seem to play well with other extensions that automatically close tabs in the background, though; for example Dustman. After a tab is auto-closed, when I switch to that group, STG says “Invalid tab” and “Background not inited”. After that, STG doesn't work. If I disable and re-enable it, the toolbar button never finishes loading. Restarting Firefox seems to fix it. (I think this may be the same issue as #212 on GitHub.)
Edit 2018-07-20: Thanks, I've updated to 3.0.10. Let's see how it goes!
Edit 2018-07-23: I'm still seeing “Invalid tab” notifications that stop STG from loading the group, but I haven't yet seen a “Background not inited” one, and STG starts working properly again when I reload it from the menu.Developer response
posted 7 years agoHi! Please update addon to v3.0.10 - bug #212 was fixed in this version - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14158659, 7 years ago
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 14151589, 7 years agoGood first pass at this extension. Buggy - frequently, it will freeze up while switching tabs due to duplicate url's in more than one tab group.

posted 6 years agoHi! Please try latest version of the addon (3.3.2)
Thanks for your feedback - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12351454, 7 years agoNeeds some work, but I am grateful that someone came up with a replacement for the old tab groups. It would be very helpful if there was a button to open the grid view directly from the browser GUI, not via the Simple Tab Groups button, i.e. with one click instead of two.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14143082, 7 years agoHi,
I have just upgrade to the latest version of this addon.
Is there a way to switch off the hidden tabs feature? I want to see my tabs across the top as in the previous
versions please?
I have multiple tab groups for different tasks
and each group has multiple tabs open
I like this separation of tabs into tasks groups.
I don't want to disable the addon, I want to use the addon but not have the tabs hidden.
Is there a way I as a user can turn on/turn off this hidden tabs feature?
IF I disable teh addon then all my tabs are unhidden but put into one tab group
I don't want this, I want separate tab groups with my tabs visible in each tab group as in previous versions
This must be possible and I just don't know how to set, please tell me how.
Thank youDeveloper response
posted 7 years agoI'm sorry, but I can not understand what the problem is.
Can you create issue with screenshots and descriptions of bug on github?

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13727573, 7 years agoi just enabled this at version 3.0.8 and it brought back tabs i had closed today.
also it moved some tabs to a hidden menu and when i click the icon, i see this:
"Found hidden unsynchronized tabs. Click on tab to show it into current group/window or:
Move all of this tabs into current group/window
Create new group with all of this tabs
Close all of this tabs"
if i disable it now, i'm worried i'll lose those hidden tabs. this is really not a good design. if i enable this addon, it should not mess around with my tabs and risk losing them. i might disable it now and lose those tabs.
you really need to keep this addon from messing with users' tabs.
and "this tabs" should be corrected to "these tabs"
ok, so i clicked "move all tabs into current group". it's kind of fixed the lost tabs, but now i have some duplicates and the when i had enabled it first, the tabs to the right of the addons tab, moved to the top so they're to the right of my last pinned tab.
please fix all these bugs !Developer response
posted 7 years agoIf you turn off the addon, the browser will show all the tabs hidden by this addon.
If you turn on the addon - then it tries to restore the previous state before it disable.
You can move tab to other group by right click on tab (context menu).
I corrected the translation "this tabs" to "these tabs". This update will available in next release. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12682261, 7 years agoIt makes the life of a Web developer a lot more productive.
Can't wait to see what future improvements will bring us. :-) - Rated 5 out of 5by SabaiDeeMak, 7 years agoWow, finally on FF Quantum (FF61, 07/2018): we have old good Tab Groups and even better and more customizable. I like custom icons for groups - very handy. Thanks, developer! <3
- Rated 5 out of 5by jusuff, 7 years agoFinally, a fully functional replacement for the good old TabGroups!
After the last release, the tabs are finally not reloaded after switching groups. Taking into account the limitations of the new API, this extension deserves 6 stars.
Thanks Drive4ik! Now I can use Firefox just like I used to before WebExtensions era. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13616213, 7 years agoJust seen the permissions for this plugin... Wow! Access your data for all websites // Store unlimited amount of client-side data... That means you'll know as much about me as my own family! What you going to do with all that?
TO Drive4ik: Ok I'll take your word for it. Putting back 5 starsDeveloper response
posted 7 years agoThis addon does not collect or send any data anywhere. These rights are necessary for the operation of the extension, so is the Firefox WebExtension API
Here is the source code https://github.com/Drive4ik/simple-tab-groups, you can view it yourself and see for yourself.
There is only one option in the settings that sends the url address to a special google address to get favicon in certain cases. This option is disabled by default. It is called "Use tabs fav-icons from Google S2 Converter"
Sorry for my English
