About this extension
This is a Firefox extension that allows you to block connections to specific domains (and subdomains) when your anonymity VPN is down. It may be useful if you don't wan't to use the kill switch but still want to have privacy when browsing certain sites. Connections without incognito mode can also be blocked.

This software is based on https://github.com/mdn/webextensions-examples/tree/main/proxy-blocker and https://pythonbasics.org/webserver/.

Check https://github.com/sam-maverick/browsing-privacy-vpn-check-extension/ for more information.

Release notes for 3.0
In this version, the add-on can now check whether the VPN is down by connecting to https://ip.me and checking the country where your IP belongs to. You configure the country where you actually are. If the country where you are coincides with the country of your IP, then the connection is blocked.

Otherwise you can use a local service for that detection. If so, you need to follow the install instructions from the documentation.
