- Rated 4 out of 5by The Fe Throne, 2 years agoIt would be nice to have an option to toggle the "delete search history & cache" option off and on. I just want the nsfw sites to vanish but want to keep my history and cache
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17419124, 2 years agoI don't get it. The claims seems legit. So I installed it on Firefox for Mac and tried it. Got porn, no problem. Restarted Firefox. Got porn. Rebooted. Got porn. No idea what else I need to be doing, cause it's a pretty straightforward plugin.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13866330, 3 years agoIt works great but needs some customizing options.
It blocked the porn sites even from coming up in searches except for a foreign one but it's not being https blocked it anyway. And it's great that it doesn't bring up a page saying it's being blocked like others do.
The problem was when it came to gambling sites. I want a porn blocker for an old man with dementia so he doesn't spend literally all day looking at porn. He also sometimes spins FREE slots which is no harm but this blocked all of them, while still showing the search results, they just weren't clickable.
I wish it was at least a little customizable so I could allow his favorite free site.
Edit: one more thing to help those using it for children. Just right click the symbol in the menu bar and click remove from menu bar then the child wont know it's there. If they are old enough to realize something is up and go into plugins to disable it then they might be old enough to stop gate keeping but I'm not a parent. I think for actual children hiding it should be enough. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16790709, 3 years agoPerfect, it allows Google SafeSearch in private browsing.
No high memory usage, just download it then be free again... - Rated 5 out of 5by Rdali, 3 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Wendalka, 3 years agoI wish that I could whitelist YouTube from this addon, because it's exactly the type of blocker I want but it also blocks YouTube videos which are indicated for a mature audience.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14652580, 6 years agoMy nephew downloaded this because it is described as an "Adult blocker add-on". He took that to mean it would block adults like me from doing things like "hacking" into his computer, installing "malware" (parental control software), because he hates the "threats" to take away his internet privileges for a full year if I catch him looking up weird porn on Deviant Art, or watching YouTube videos that try to convince him he's really a girl.
How did I find out he installed it? Glad you asked.
My wife and I were attempting to use the laptop that evening for grown-up things and that's how I was introduced to Stop-it. I opened up the parental control software wherein I confirmed he installed it, and then proceeded to that part of the internet where, in this case, Bronies re-enact the Squat Cobbler scene from "Better Call Saul".
We had to have a long, awkard conversation with him about the whole thing.
****EDIT Because I know someone is going to call BS based on the fact that I have parental control software already installed....I don't want to give it a sales pitch but it's pretty awesome. it's basically spyware - he knows it's there and what the consequences are for breaking the rules. To this point, that had kept him from getting in trouble :) ***
Aside from the nature of the content the kid was looking at I thought it was pretty funny actually. Maybe better word choice in the description would be a good idea though.Developer response
