by archie, 4 months agoSince I have been using an active pen in Windows for 22 years, this extension looks like a Godsend!
Unfortunately I cannot seem to get it to do what it's supposed to do. Basically, while the mouse draws fine, the stylus, like the finger, scrolls the page while drawing, which conflicts. Might have to do with FF gestures settings.
Also, it seems that the required permission needs to be given once at a time, at least that's what the FF extension button displays.
Lastly, pinning the icon doesn't seem to serve a purpose; could it act as a toggle? ctrl-x is fine but you need a keyboard... The stylus is my keyboard. I mapped a mouse button to the shortcut.
In any case, I want to encourage the author with this fascinating project. Cheers.

Nothing happens :( - Rated 2 out of 5by Xanderama, 2 years agoI really wish I could rate it better, as this is the only extension that even tries achieving what this one does and I'd like to support, but I's not working at all for me. It just does nothing. Also I'd like to suggest a different keyboard shortcut for the Navigation/Drawing toggle, as CTRL+X is too commonly used for 'cutting' text and might be toggled by mistake.
[REPLY to DEV] Thanks for your reply! No, I cannot be more precise as simply nothing happens when I press CTRL+X or when I try to activate the add-on with the GUI button. Nothing changes in how the stylus interacts with the window/page, not even when I use the stylus buttons. Nothing with the mouse, or finger, either. Yes, the stylus works fine in other contexts. I did try restarting the Browser and also rebooting. Still nothing. Maybe the issue is that I'm using a touchscreen Windows 11 laptop instead of a "tablet"? Regarding the shortcut: what about CTRL+SpaceBar?Developer response
posted 2 years agoHi,
Can you be more precise on what is not working? Does it work with a mouse? Does the stylus work in other applications? Is there any specific website for which this addon is not working?
Unfortunately many shortcuts are already taken by browsers and are not overridable, as far as I know, CTRL-X was a way to keep controls on the bottom row of the keyboard without stretching your hand each time. If you have any better alternative, I would happy to add it if possible.
