Developer response
posted 2 years agoThank you for leaving feedback! I looked into the issue and I managed to get the glitchy behavior when copy/pasting text into a comment box. However, I also seem to be getting the same glitch even when the extension is disabled. I looked into it a bit and it seems to be a known issue with Firefox on Reddit's end.
The issue seems to stem from the "Fancy Pants Editor" and most of what I saw recommended switching to the "Markdown Mode" when copy/pasting text.
Here is a thread documenting the issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/bugs/comments/qec00j/copying_editing_a_text_is_broken_completely/ - Rated 5 out of 5by KFrançoisB, 2 years agoUndervalued add-on considering it is protecting your mental health.
- Rated 5 out of 5by BenStigsen, 2 years agoWorks as shown. Good way to avoid engaging with the addiction that is the general opinion of others, shown with a single click. Removing something like the amount of votes something has gotten, hides what people agree and disagree with, allowing one to form an opinion that's not based on the click of a button from other people. Votes aren't helpful unless one is building a brand. Now one can ignore the votes and focus on the (hopefully) constructive responses to the post / comment instead. Forming an opinion from something people took the time to express.
I have a habit of checking how my recent comments or posts are doing in terms of upvotes, which can be affecting, especially when posting in certain groups/subreddits that hold a certain opinion. This can help one avoid confirmation bias and echo chambers.
