I used to use another YT downloader I think it was called 1-Click. I prefer MP4 360p as it works everywhere and is a good filesize/quality compromise. Video Downloader has a cheap professional program for Windows which I use on the occasion a video doesn't work from Firefox. The add-on stopped working for a while after I downloaded lots of videos so maybe there is a quota. Glad I bought VD professional standard.

So far so good :) The plugin has no visible cons. Easy to use, fast and does not consume RAM, no conflicts with Firefox, the button is tiny and simple. 100% recommended!

Allowed me to download all available versions of my video from the site. (Up to 570p was uploaded). More or less one click!
