Why?
First of all, there are NO privacy policy stated anywhere. This extensions use "Custom license" which raises even more red flags.
Simply keep to extensions that has a written privacy police, and use more secure license (GNU, Mozilla Public License, MIT) - Rated 2 out of 5by ashleedawg, 6 years agoHere's a list of suported sites: https://www.downloadhelper.net/asites/f/standard/1
(No porn sites supported.. not that I would know...) - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15198483, 6 years agoIt's OK, it can download videos. BUT why didn't say there will be a QR-code in the corner of the video?! 2 stars, nothing more. Use Youtube-dl and ffmpeg instead of this hidden-shareware 'thing'.
- Rated 2 out of 5by weldabar, 6 years agoThe QR code is 3 inches x 3 inches! That's ridiculous, and the $30 price is ridiculous.

- Rated 2 out of 5by brendle, 6 years agoLeidert nicht verwendbart. Es will nur installiert werden, wenn FX zuvor installiert wird: und das, obwohl FX iunstalliert ist! Also unbrauchbar.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15099059, 6 years agoYeah, not gonna install a 3rd party software from an unknown source. They should warn this on their description.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 12262756, 6 years agoCan download movies that other addons cant, but it requires for EVERYTHING a companion app which must be downloaded from the website of the programmer instead of from Mozilla. They could include the functions in the main app or make the companion app available in mozilla. I find it EXTREMELY unprofessional and suspicious when anybody wants me to download something from another place. even more if it is to grant me the BASIC functions of the app!!!

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 14558205, 6 years agoalready helped me a lot, but the interface is extremely cluttered: it does not indicate the native video stream for easy download, but confuses the user by offering dozens of conversion options for a single video.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15025524, 6 years agoDespite trying numerous times, (over 50) cannot rely on videos downloading consistently. have gone to FAQ but can't work out why it is hit and miss. More miss than hit. also get the QR symbol when it does. The other message I get is to press play. Unfortunately I already have. I have stopped the video and restarted but still doesn't work. So disappointing. I was quite excited to have found Video Download Helper. I will be out of internet range soon and needed my instructional videos to be on hard-drive. I shall keep trying.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 6511580, 6 years agoI tested 7.3.5. Companion app is very slow for new Youtube 1080p. Over 30 minutes needed for a 5min video. Another extension completes everything in 1min.
- Rated 2 out of 5by riipah, 6 years agoThe free version has a big watermark now for the downloaded videos, so it's pretty much useless :(
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15008029, 6 years agoSorry, I understand you have to make money, but I just hate your QR code "feature". Fortunately there are very good alternatives, for example the Ant Video Downloader, so have a nice life, I'm uninstalling your extension.
