- Rated 1 out of 5by マンサー, 3 months agoCould have warned you'd put a giant, 100% opaque qrcode watermark using 1/4 of the screen with it's removal behind a paywall BEFORE users hit the "Add to Firefox" button and try out by themselves, but oh well, gotta increase that sweet number of downloads button at any cost, am I right?
Was looking for a quick built-in solution to replace JDownloader. Lucky I tested it before downloading a video that was about to be removed 1 hour after, and had time to remove this garbage and have the original video in my hands before that happen. The search for a built-in solution continues...
The concept of ransomware:
A type of malicious software that encrypts a victim's files or locks them behind their system, making it unusable until a ransom is paid to the attacker. If it's the only copy available, the victim has no choice but to pay.
What this addon does:
Downloads a video and put a giant qrcode at the bottom-left corner occupying 1/4 of it. The qrcode leads to a page you have to pay to have it removed. If this is the only copy left, you have no options but to pay.
So, not only does this addon walks an uncanny blurry line on an actual crime, firefox endorses it.
"Firefox only recommends add-ons that meet our standards for security and performance." OHOHOH is that so?? Thank god I only use hardened forks. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19054130, 3 months agoWas good. Now added big QR-code almost on 1/4 screen.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19053507, 3 months agoI was running Video Downloadhelper (VDH) on my old Windows 10 laptop as a Firefox extension (the laptop started out with Windows 7). I upgraded to a new Windows 11 laptop and I am UNABLE to download VDH on my new laptop as I cannot locate an INSTALL button and I cannot find any sort of contact info. I am disappointed!!

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 19053452, 4 months agoExtremely ridiculous to download the video and add a QR CODE to your video.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Jeff, 4 months agoWas great. Has now broken. Cuts off downloads arbitrarily before finishing.
- Rated 1 out of 5by ThatOrange, 4 months agoファイルに勝手にDRMを追加し、そのDRM解除の料金を請求する意味不明なAdd-onになりさがってしまった ///// It has devolved into a nonsensical add-on that unilaterally adds DRM to files and then charges a fee for its removal.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Grim, 4 months agoWas cool, wanted me to install some software to download videos from a site. Ok, fine I get it. Not everything can simply be done from the browser I guess. Then came the watermark, wanting me to buy a conversion license? $28.50! Where does it say in the description about any of this? Pfft. I'll just stick to jdownloader I guess.
- Rated 1 out of 5by GenericFFUser, 4 months agoReviews from previous updates should be removed, this gives this a much higher score than it should have. A year or more ago this add-on was amazing; however, they've monetized what used to be free.
If you use this free version it either will not work or will put a giant QR code over the video. Do yourself a favor and create your own or find a better add-on. - Rated 1 out of 5by Ares, 4 months agoUsed to be a great extension allowing you to download videos easier or from sites that it was otherwise impossible to do so for but they recently made a change adding a MASSIVE QR code to any video you download making the video unwatchable and defeating the entire reason for downloading the extension.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Jackrucel, 4 months agoit is a paid product, skip it if you don't intend on paying.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14933452, 4 months agoJunk that puts a huge QR code watermark over the video unless you pay almost $30. Just use yt-dl the syntax is easy.
- Rated 1 out of 5by LongRamen, 4 months agoSlaps a huge watermark over half of the screen unless you pay them the low low price of... US$28.50. Also requires you to install a "companion" app to your computer alongside it. Steer clear of this extension.
