- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14505999, 6 years agoExcellent addon that allows you to remap all keys (essential). BUT. The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I recently fell onto a bug while browsing cpubenchmark.net and I had to switch to Vim Vixen :( To replicate the bug, go onto that site and search something pressing enter. Then start a new search... problem! Until this bug is fixed I can't give this the 5 stars it deserves :(

- Rated 4 out of 5by Leo, 7 years agoexcellent experience in chrome, but there's problem I met in firefox, when I was using vimium in websites which open each selected result in a new tab, the annoying warning that "firefox prevented this site from a pop-up window" was always there, and if I disabled the pop-up blocker from setting, with once vimium shortcut typed, the same two tabs were opened. I think it's probably a bug with vimium, because if I click the link directly instead of using vimium, all these problems above disappear.
- Rated 4 out of 5by timvisee, 7 years agoBrilliant plugin! Mostly what I expected from such plugin, so that's awesome.
The only problem I'm having though, is that Vimium does not work on the new tab/blank pages (and probably on some other pages too) in Firefox.
I'll change my rating to 5 stars for sure when this minor issue has been fixed. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13570206, 7 years agoMostly love this extension. I wish I could hold down backspace when searching without the backspace causing me to go back a page after I have deleted all the text from the search box.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12899006, 7 years agoWorks well for me on 57. Fairly seamless substitute for my old (unsupported) favorite, VimFX. Most commands are identical, but it still needs a bit of work.
Would also request that Search default to the omnibar instead of an overlay.
- newTab seems to turn off vimium-ff
- Esc should return to page content
- needs optimization
But... very glad this is moving forward! Many Thanks! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13470238, 7 years ago1. yf Copy a link URL to the clipboard not working
2. not functioning in some url, such as https://bangumi.bilibili.com/anime/6463 - Rated 4 out of 5by GammaFunction, 7 years agoAddon port is in progress, I hope it continues! I *would* like regular expression /searching more than anything else that's missing, but I'm patient.
- Rated 4 out of 5by nongthaihoang, 7 years agoGood but not enough. Lack of elements focusing such as mouse hovering.
And I have to use my mouse to place the cursor before entering visual mode to select text. - Rated 4 out of 5by xxjohndifoolxx, 7 years agoone key misses : a key to restart firefox ! useful when you have some addons that needs to reload FF when activated or some bugs inside webpages
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13265629, 8 years agoit's really sad the support for VimFX will stop and now I have to use this one. It's ok, although it needs some work. Here are some suggestions:
- in VimFx, i can re-map every key. I especially miss the re-mapping of the generated Huffmann Tree Link-Codes, since I don't use a QWERTY-Keyboard.
- VimFx had a clean and simple representation of the Link-Codes, this one has some weird shadowing going on. It's minor, but yeah.. I like my things clean and simple
- If the focus in on the URL-Navigation Bar, I can't use Esc to focus the website content
- Closing Tab (x) does only work if a website is open. When I open a tab, it goes to about:blank and i can't close it. However, it closes if I go to it manually. Kind of weird behaviour.
positive things:
- Link-Codes don't overlap, very useful on reddit
- the Navigation Bar showing Up on O is awesome! - Rated 4 out of 5by ronjouch, 8 years agoGood! The only nit for my usage is, as remarked by another commenter, the inability to open links in new tab, which depends on enhancing a WebExtensions API: https://github.com/philc/vimium/issues/2510
Note this is VimFx-like (simple and unobtrusive), it does *NOT* has Vimperator's bells and whistles. - Rated 4 out of 5by Jesse Lin, 8 years agoThe addon has a lot of promise, but compatibility with Firefox 57+ WE still needs work. It's often buggy. Things like Shift-F open in new tab doesn't work. I hope as developers get things worked out with Mozilla and the new APIs many of these bugs will be resolved.
The main issue right now is the inability (as far as I can tell) to customize keybindings. - Rated 4 out of 5by bsnsk, 8 years agoVery promising extension!
With one question:
why is it disabled on addons.mozilla.org?
New: Not working on news.google.com!
Update: Sorry I did not describe this properly. It is actually shift-f that does not work, and it seems it is a problem of Firefox WE API. Thanks for your great extension!Developer response

It seems Firefox simply does not run extensions on this site. There's nothing we can do.

I cannot replicate that. It works fine for me. Perhaps you accidentally added an exclusion rule; check the options page.
