- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13593668, 7 years agoVery useful module, I use it since years !! and now under Chrome to.
But with this new version, I mostly regret the "Disable" menu (Disable cache, referrer, proxy), "disable cache" was useful.
When disable cache will be back, I set the 5th star.
Oups! I see your answer about diable API in FF.. I hope FF will re-publish this API. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13560550, 7 years ago

I downgrade to Firefox 56.0b9 (on Mac) and redownload version 1.2.13 of Web Developer: u know what? I happy now... - Rated 4 out of 5by interlist, 7 years ago(Aside- Not so intuitive that I have to click on the stars to make a comment)
So, the automatic updating I just did of Firefox (circa 2017-11) seems to give me a version of Web Developer that's quite different...
I don't seem to have the right-click content menu anymore.
And even more critically, there doesn't seem to be a "Save Generated Source" feature anymore.
Is that true?
If not, then could someone please tell me how to find it.
And if true, then might I inquire if there are any plans to re-implement this useful feature?
Thanks.
[Update - I see that this new version of Firefox is a complete bomb wrt Web Developer, and that others have noted the disappearance of "Save Generated Source" (+ a lot more). I think the instructions for downloading the old version + extension is very useful. I wish Firefox would provide an automatic roll-back for this sort of stuff. I've actually almost switched to Chrome due to the "downgrade" performance of the Firefox "upgrades". The philosophy seems to fundamentally disregard backwards compatibility - and must be a constant hardship to extension writers
PS- I hate (not a lot, just a little) the new Firefox icon. Change just for change's sake?] - Rated 4 out of 5by bilou83, 7 years agoI do not know how to answer your post!
merci de votre aide
Dommage !
votre module était plus pratique, on avait l’adresse de la feuille de style et les style attachés c'etait simple et efficace...
On fera avec !
merci
Pity !
your module was more convenient, we had the address of the style sheet and the style attached it was simple and effective ...
We will do with!

hello
déçu de cette nlle version, pas de francais, et l'option "voir les css d un élément en particulier" (ou quelque chose de ce genre !) à disparue...
merci tout de même au développeur.
Peut -être dans la prochaine version !?
Hello
disappointed with this version, no French, and the option "see the css of a particular element" (or something like that!) to disappeared ...
EDIT
thank you all the same to the developer.
Maybe in the next version!?

Firefox 57 changed the way extension localization works so I need to rewrite that functionality, but I hope to add it back in with the help of translators in a future release.
The ‘Display Style Information’ feature had to be removed as Firefox removed the APIs that it was using. The best replacement for this feature is the CSS inspector built into the browser developer tools:

====================================================================================== - Rated 4 out of 5by Sebastien Billard, 7 years agoI have used this extension for years, daily. Unfortunately the post-Quantum version is a big deception : first it is not a toolbar anymore, and second the possibility to instantly turn off javascript has been removed. I realize this is a Firefox problem and not the developer's fault, but I have lost a great tool :(

- Rated 4 out of 5by MakssI&GD, 7 years agoI miss the special toolbar. Version 2 only has only this small dropdown menu which needs more mouse clicks. With the old permanent toolbar I would give 5 stars.

posted 7 years agoThe new version of Firefox no longer allows extensions to create toolbars so there is nothing I can do on my end to support this. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13482532, 7 years agoI understand the old one will not work under the new version. That's not nice but you can't help it.
I found the little block in the top right of firefox. I will need to find out how it works. Perhaps itś possibe to show what every part is when hovering over it?Developer response
posted 7 years agoFirefox completely changed the way extensions must now work and the old version will no longer which is why I was forced to change everything. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do on my end to change this. - Rated 4 out of 5by Marc-Antoine Carrier, 7 years agoHi there!
I'm a web developer. been doing this for 20 years now. your plugin has made my work much easier.
Just updated to Quantum to realize my developer toolbar has disappeared. I'm looking around to find a way to get it back. Is there one?
Thanks for your time and keep up the good work!Developer response
posted 7 years agoThe new version of Firefox no longer allows extensions to create toolbars so Web Developer now has to be activated by clicking on the cog icon in the toolbar (you may need to customize the toolbar to add the icon):

give me a dialogue that lets me clear just the disk cache?
I want to keep my history but still empty the cache - as was possible pre-WebExt.
Empty Cache Button
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/empty-cache-button/
lets me do that.Developer response
posted 7 years agoNo, that feature applies to the history and not the cache. The old 'Clear Cache' feature needs to be rewritten as Firefox removed the API it was using, but I hope to add it back in a future release. - Rated 4 out of 5by patelisp, 7 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13471414, 7 years agoAs a front-end developer, this tool is irreplaceable. A couple features that are no longer available, and I very much miss are the pin-able settings and "disable javascript".
Developer response
posted 7 years agoI am hoping to bring back the 'Pin Features' option, but Firefox has removed the APIs that powered the disable features so I had to remove them. I have asked Firefox to add back in support, but until they do there is nothing I can do on my end. - Rated 4 out of 5by Николай Егоров , 7 years agoGood extension, but... After a page reload all "outline" settings are reset. Too bad, because you can't use to work with LiveReload (for example, BrowserSync) functions in html layout pages.
Is possible fix this? - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13454481, 7 years agoHi Chris,
When I set the resize dimensions the way I want them they seem to automatically get reset a few days later. What can I do to prevent this from happening?
I use this add-on almost daily. It's very useful.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13399046, 7 years agoI like it, but there is something wrong since I update to Firefox 57.
Everytime I open Firefox, the windows with the "you successfully install Web Developer" come back... I find it a little boring, how can I stop it ??Developer response
posted 7 years agoThis was a bug and should be fixed with the new 2.0.1 patch release. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13450209, 7 years agoIndispensabile...
but with new versione of firefox 57.0 i can't add the toolbar :(Developer response
posted 7 years agoThe new version of Firefox no longer allows extensions to create toolbars so this is unfortunately not possible.
