Windscribe - Free VPN and Ad Blocker by Windscribe

- Rated 1 out of 5by Seren666, an hour agoIf you happen to accidentally log out, the extension permanently breaks and you are unable to log in again because it no longer loads to that stage. Obviously re-installing fixes it but you can't log in with email so if you forget your username you can't log in. I've done a reset password (I'm not even sure if that will give me my username and I already know my password...) but I haven't received a reset email in at least 30mins...
When I was logged in, the app would often show me as connected but not show an IP so I'm not sure if the VPN is even active... - Rated 1 out of 5by Fer, 2 days ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Almost9797, 22 days agoExtension login failed. Windscribe.com blocked my IP address (what's the point of a VPN company blocking a pooled CGNAT address? Why not just use IPv6 addresses?). Logging into windscribe.net (using the same credentials as the extension) is fine. Writing to support@windscribe.com, including the details, results in an automated response redirecting to Garry (the bot) and the Knowledge Base, which are hosted on windscribe.com and blocks my IP in the first place. Reddit? Why not point this out right away instead of having users waste their time? Using other reputable VPNs is much easier than this.

- Rated 1 out of 5by kakaze, a month agoабсолютно нерабочее, к сервам не подключается, а если и подключается, то в любом случае ни 1 сайт не грузится, ваще никакой. +Требует авторизации, да и всего 10 Гб на месяц это мало.

- Rated 5 out of 5by calraith, 2 months agoI've had a subscription to Windscribe for several years. Our CISO at work has made an effort to block outbound VPN connections, but Windscribe connects to any endpoint I wish as easily as if my PC were in the DMZ. Same for many restaurant hot spots, schools, medical offices, etc. I love that Windscribe automates connections using several different protocols and encryption methods, and I can secure my browsing from meddling network admins as easily as pressing the "On" button.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Sunfur, 2 months agoFirst of all, the VPN works fine. You need to make an account, and you only get 10GB for free, but I can get over that since it's still a pretty good deal.
BUT. This extension messes with you configs without ever warning you about it or giving you the choice to disable it. It will automatically disable all prefetching and Firefox network prediction, even if the VPN is toggles of and you disable all privacy options in the extension settings. I believe that an extension that tramples over my preferences without even mentioning it ANYWHERE or giving me the option to disable this behavior is not worth it if you truly want to be able to have control over your own browser.
Obviously this doesn't affect you if you have prefetching disabled anyway, but anyone should realize that any form of unintended behavior is pretty bad.
