- Rated 1 out of 5by noraef, a day agoVery slow (even by youtube standards), whatever what the dev will say: sometimes takes almost a minute to load a youtube video, and often will fail to load the full page, with the comments.
Very buggy: again, often failing to load a page fully, the mini-player suddenly not appearing anymore when scrolling down, or among many others, the limiting to H.264 not working reliably (to be fair, it only reliably works with enhanced-h264ify, whichever main youtube extension I use). Even the menu is buggy: the search bar will always cover the link to go back in the menu (so one has to close that search bar again and again), and if used in the extension panel (as opposed to using it pinned), it won't even fit the window properly, lol!
Fortunately, I discovered a little used extension (Tweaks for youtube: only about 3k users, which is baffling), that is great where Improve youtube isn't at all. I tested them all, and that's the only one I'll keep. - Rated 5 out of 5by yArQ, 2 days ago

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 12651157, 15 days agoThe lag is real and not just a myth, please don't just deny it instead try to fix the issue.
My youtube is lag heavily for at least couple months (I even switch to freetube but switch back because it got some problems too).
I tried browser switcher and many things but never solve the problem. Pretty much youtube will lag heavily (pause and move 5 second can take over 5 seconds to respond) after I use it for more than 5-10 minutes.
Today I just remove the extention and the problem solved. I've been using youtube for at least over 3 hours now and there's no lag anymore.
Please don't say any excuse and try to fix the issue.
I usually only open less than 5 tabs on my browser and saying that you guys are just some volunteer is not a reason to not fix your extention. - Rated 5 out of 5by pix0wl, 16 days ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Klaas de Eindbaas, 19 days agoExcelent Add-On. Works like a charm. Feature request: Option to default disable auto-dubbing, which can't be disabled in YT settings :( I'd like to have auto translated subs, but n.e.v.e.r auto translated dubs. I rather understand nothing & be forced to learn than to be kept dumb
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 17465350, 25 days agoSuspected performance issues ongoing since late autumn early winter 2024 - currently operating Firefox with extension disabled and haven't had to restart for over 24hrs. Will try to follow up in a week or so.

posted 25 days agoHi! unfortunately this is more often a legend. Do you check the exact performance taken per tab? (did if you seen an error in the console? Unfortunately Firefox has not reviewed our fixes since December 29.) - Rated 5 out of 5by speed, a month agoOMG! This addon is too powerful, it makes YouTube so much customisable. I love it. I hope it will be continuously developed and updated. It also blocks ads in built, so useful. The 1-star reviews r not true, and i hope this project will hav continued donations. Unfortunately, i aint got the money to donate :(
Btw its not a bot review :) - Rated 5 out of 5by Jrt, a month ago
- Rated 2 out of 5by Gemini62167, a month agoA fairly decent extension for YT except that it is losing some of the most desirable functions for some reason. The skip ad feature doesn't work at all no matter what option you choose.
I wouldn't mind the ads so much and let many of them play except for the fact that most of them are so ridiculous, it's like a video example of the kind of ads you find in the National Enquirer. They're utterly unbelievable (or should be), but for whatever reason it appears the same kind of marketing and advertising laws and regulations just don't seem to apply on the internet. You can claim just about anything or misrepresent, twist and bend truth with fact to confuse people into believing things with abandon. Its the same kind of tactics the consrevativce media has been using increasingly since the 1980s. It's been going on for two generations now and trying to point this out, prove fallacy with fact is impossible. And for this, I don't think I nor anyone else should be required to watch this nonsense, I don't care if it's how these videos are monetized or not. Lying and manipulation for the sake of selling product is not an excusable reason. Sorry, I'm one of the few that still believes in ethics in this society. And really, as far as YT is concerned, it wouldn't exist at all if people didn't upload videos to begin with, so I'm not one to fall on my knees in tears over the plight of YT not making enough money to keep its investors happy. They could all go f**k themselves.
To continue...
As for the functions of this extension that seemed to have ceased to work, the mixer section does not register any open tabs and thus does not work. And, should you reload your page you will have to hit the extension pinned to your toolbar to get it to begin functioning at all with those options that still work. Sad really. Because for what it is supposed to do, it offers much in a very compact and easy to use design.Developer response

> you will have to hit the extension pinned to your toolbar to get it to begin functioning
in the current firefox you have to first allow extensions to run always.
you don't sound like giving this free public service less than 5 stars (what makes one greedy or believing in negative-motivation?)
Ads: the features hides all banners and tries to skip different version of the skip button it is just one in 200 features, not relevant, not unique and we might stop or separate it for legal clarity https://github.com/code-charity/youtube/issues/2751#issuecomment-2560581960 (read all by @improvedtube)
BTW currently a bug might disables a few more features unnecessarily and unfortunately firefox has not viewed the fix yet since December 29. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 17887783, a month agoGreat, but the video quality is as if you put a face-softening filter on. I prefer a natural video

removed extension and youtube stared working again, unfortunate as it was a good addition :/Developer response
posted a month agohi! :) please don't rate us wrongfully but mind this doesn't start or end with your usage. This is a hardworking volunteer initiative since 12 years, with 150 contributors on github, and inspite we modestly have to race uphill all them time during Youtube changes.
Please don't buy or spread baseless rumors about lags. (Every software will take some time (lke 0.001 second). We changed nothing mad a minor visual update 10 days ago, none in November - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18205130, a month agobecause of this extension, YouTube started to hang heavily on my PC, which eventually results in a banner saying that the tab slows down firefox, the same thing on the second PC, but it freezes TIGHTLY.
the exclusion method revealed this extension. oh, it inspired great hopes 😭😭😭
ok, I won't rate it "unfairly".Developer response
posted a month agohi! Please don't feed such old myth against browser-extensions.
You don't need a exclusion method but you can actually see exactly how much ram or cpu an extension consumes (usually little)
please don't rate us unfairly. - Rated 5 out of 5by Vindeshwar, a month ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by darkredandwhite, 2 months agoPlease add an option to move the position of YouTube's subtitles. I believe this feature is built-in on PC, but it's not available on Android. Adding it would be a great improvement.

posted 2 months agohi! on m.youtube (mobile layout), most of our page-layout features might not work just yet but playback features like resolution, speed, volume should and several percent of daily users are on android. Let us know or join us on github. Thank you! - Rated 4 out of 5by paulcalebfarmer, 2 months ago
