Channel Blocker by Time Machine Development

by Firefox user 14746909, 6 years agoI love it. It is really simple to use but provides room for you to get as specific as you want using regular expressions. It doesn't add unneeded garbage that you were not looking for. It's super light-weight and won't interrupt your experience or make your youtube tab crash.
I've been using it to block clickbait channels from populating my recommended section, haven't seen the words Mojo or Buzzfeed in a while and couldn't be happier about it.

- Rated 5 out of 5by icedtats, 11 days agoIt used to be perfect but it stopped working on the homescreen! I hope it gets fixed this used to be indispensable for youtube :(
EDIT: It works again!!! - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18722127, a month agoIt not working no more. It shows the list. The X only show up in search. I can block every channel and it will still be there.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Bastion, 2 months agoWorked perfectly for a while. Though for some odd reason, would eventually make YT unusable with it always not loading the rest of the videos for some reason. It also seems to make a conflict with adblockers as I started getting YT ads while using them and it disappeared after disabling this extension. At that point, it's a question of which I'd like to keep, and I obviously decided to go for my adblock and uninstalled this extension. I'm not sure if this will ever get fixed. I've been experiencing this same problem a few months ago and tried to give this a go again recently, but unfortunately, I started getting the same experience as what I said above.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Poppy Catscratch, 3 months agoExcellent for removing nsfw and content farm content from youtube in private windows and/or when not logged in. But if I could have one thing more it would be support for Firefox mobile. Youtube is unbearable without extensions and finding good extensions for mobile is HARD. I do over half my scrolling on mobile Firefox and having this work there would be greatly appreciated.

- Rated 5 out of 5by NSEW, 3 months agoI use this and blocktube. Between the both of them it allows me to keep channels blocked.

- Rated 4 out of 5by frikdt, 7 months agoWorks well enough for me. I've been using it for about a week now and have blocked many unwanted videos and channels. I would've given it full marks but for two things: Having to open configuration and add a regex becomes a chore, and I wish that blocked channels & videos could also have fed through to youtube's native 'Not interested' & 'Don't recommend channel' functions.

- Rated 3 out of 5by orangedeal, a year agoSome channels cannot be blocked - there is no cross. I have to add them manually to the configuration file and then import it. But after adding, they will still appear (as related channels)
- Rated 5 out of 5by SiegeSquirrel, a year agoWorks like a charm, doesn't impede my experience at all. Great for removing unwanted drama-stirrers from the ol' recommended.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 14025831, a year agoUse to be wonderful. But, while I can still block channels, which is great, it has started to hide any random channel when I type it in the search box... that have not been blocked... which is becoming increasingly frustrating ... but it hasnt been updated in over a year, so this might not be fixed ...

- Rated 3 out of 5by ValuableHorses, a year agoPreviously a five-star rating, but doesn't seem to affect comments by blocked parties anymore, which was my primary reason for using it. A shame, as it was effective and convenient for that previously.
For other purposes, it may still work fine.
