I can't do anything about it if I don't have any information.
If you had it installed before I updated make sure you are using the version 1.1 not 1.0. This addon does not auto update. Because if you were using 1.0 that absolutely does not work anymore.

posted 3 hours ago1 star feels a bit harsh.
There was never a claim made that it fixes the results Youtube provides, the tool is to help filter and sort out the garbage. It still has to utilize the results YouTube gives you with your search.
To get better results out of the gate make sure you are using good search terms, like using quotations. But again, regardless of the search term; YouTube will still provide junk because that's what YouTube spits out. Harvesort is just collects all the results in a local database and is allowing you to filter based on the metadata avaliable. Its not actually checking the content for relevance of the results because that's not as easily done; mostly because YouTube does not readily provide this metadata.
It's still better then searching YouTube with their filters that actively inject shorts when you are searching videos, don't really sort in any given order that makes sense, or provides you a list of the same things over and over. Harvesort can find ALL the results of a search if you turn on 'unsafty' mode. You can find results of any given time period in YouTube's history. Good luck getting YouTube's base results to do that unless you know exactly what you are looking for.
I plan to at some point add a way to make sure what you are searching is actually related to the title of the video in some way. But that will introduce issues of its own still.
The tool may not be for you, but but it works for what it is, and 1 star is a choice related to your expectations. It sounds like your complaints are with what YouTube does natively already with your search results, not with filtering them.
Also, you don't specify what the 'simple function' you want is. Is it a replacement to 'sort by date'? If so then yeah, its overengineered for that. It kind of had to be because they outright removed the filter to do it. I will never claim this is a clean solution to that problem. But it does work to provide a solution. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19744211, 2 days agoAs of Feb 15th, this seems to work... despite other reviews?
Solve my main issue of sort-by-date getting removed on youtube. Has options that does a lot more to. Could be better with results filtering unrelated results but that is just youtube for you. At least I can find new fresh content again. - Rated 4 out of 5by urGoh, 2 days agoSeems to be working okay for me, but what I don't like is having the tab visible all the time. Would be great to at least have an additional "search only" visibility option, or even better, no tab at all but a clickable pinned Toolbar icon instead.

posted 2 days agoHi. Thanks for the review.
There is a way to adjust where it shows up in the options, under 'Visibility'. Right now the minimum one is on "Home and Search" pages which should be the default.
But it's a fair point. I could later add a few other ways of enabling/disabling it easier. Thanks for the feedback. - Rated 3 out of 5by MKstarstorm, 12 days agoWorked as intented until recently it seems
Update: After looking into it this might be due to changes on youtube's end and not hte extentionDeveloper response
posted 11 days agoThe add-on has been replaced by a more developed tool Harvésort.
This new tool should be far more powerful for searches. Please update and give it a go. It should be able to do what you were using the old add-on for, and a lot more... for as long as it is allowed to work. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18514811, 21 days agoYouTube completely removed the ability to filter through URL, rendering this useless. Was a good run.
