I do not like this change. Names dictionary still displays normally as always when I press shift. - Se valoró con 5 de 5by curt, hace 6 años

Edit: it's actually the Kanji stroke order fontRespuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 6 añosThank you! There are no stroke order diagrams in KANJIDIC itself but I will look at adding something. - Se valoró con 4 de 5by samurai80, hace 6 añosThank you very much for this porting of Rikaichan. Is there any chance you port Rikaichamp for THUNDERBIRD too ? That would be great to say the least, and I'll probably make a donation if you do so.
I've been working in Japan in a Japanese company for a long time and Rikaichan for Mozilla Thunderbird helped me A LOT. I recently updated Thunderbird just to realize that Rikaichan wasn't supported anymore. Please HELP !
PS: I tried getting the xpi file after adding the extension to Firefox and then import it into Thunderbird. While the extension is properly listed and shown as compatible in Thunderbird, it actually doesn't seem to work :/
EDIT: Thank you for the answer and happy new year :) I hope you or someone else can do something about it. Unfortunately I'm not into software dev :( If it takes less than 6 months it would be awesome !Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 6 añosThanks. I started digging into this a little bit today. Unfortunately it does seem like it will take time. I posted some notes that might be useful to others who want to help out: https://github.com/birtles/rikaichamp/issues/46 - Se valoró con 5 de 5by Usuario de Firefox 14519704, hace 6 añosBefore I used Rikaichan and back then you could use the extension with pdf files open with firefox as well. For some reason, now pdf files opened with firefox will not show the pop-up window. Can you fix this? Also, if you could make this work with epub files it would be awesome.
EDIT: Thanks a lot for clarifying this problem, I have edited my review as this is something that the extension itself cannot solve. I used the link that you provided, this opens some unrelated pdf file and from then I opened my own pdf file within the same window and the plugin now works as it did before. Can you please explain what's special about that pdf tab that makes the extension work?Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 6 añosUnfortunately there's nothing I can do about PDF files for now due to changes in Firefox that mean extensions can't interact with the PDF viewer (see bug 1454760 - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1454760). Some people have been able to work around this by using the PDF viewer at https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html and then opening a different file from the toolbar in the upper right. - Se valoró con 5 de 5by Usuario de Firefox 14519666, hace 6 añosIt would be nice if you include other languages (strongly request russian jmdict) and also "kirei cake"

publicado el hace 6 añosThank you! I'm working on supporting other languages. It will take some time, however. - Se valoró con 5 de 5by Azarilh, hace 6 años

I only miss the lookup bar. I use the lookup bar to look up words (from other programs, printed media, etc.). As a workaround, I currently use the lookup bar from Rikai-chan in Thunderbird.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 7 añosThanks for the suggestion! I'll work on adding the lookup bar back (I have a few other features to fix first, however). - Se valoró con 2 de 5by Usuario de Firefox 14249466, hace 7 añosdoesn't work with touchscreen
edit: ok you're technically right so I'll change my ratingRespuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 7 añosI think that's clear from the add-on description (there is no hovering on touchscreens) so I don't think a 1/5 rating is fair.
That said, I'd like to make this support Android some day so perhaps we can address touchscreens at the same time.
Update: It now has first class support for touchscreens. - Se valoró con 4 de 5by Usuario de Firefox 12850698, hace 7 años

Thank you! - Se valoró con 5 de 5by ゲンクロー義経, hace 7 añosOne of the best tools (if not the best) I've used so far as many legacy add-ons became non compliant ever since. It's pretty neat, lightweight, reliable, doesn't seem to eat up your RAM as others do and It gets updates as well :) Otherwise I'd be utterly lost as I depend on it so much.

+1 for the lookup bar. It's much faster to search for a word on the lookup bar -and be able to do it offline- than having to go to a dictionary/jisho website. - Se valoró con 4 de 5by Usuario de Firefox 14175714, hace 7 añosIt seems to be better than the others, but I wonder if we can get the lookup bar that rikaisama had. I used the lookup bar mainly for Kanji. If I'd like to know about a kanji I saw on a sign or something. Also, I use it to look up names. Since Kanji has a meaning, sometimes I look them up to see what names I'd like to name a character (person). I was able to see a list of names that use that kanji. I also used it as a dictionary when reading books.

publicado el hace 7 añosOh, interesting. What do you use the lookup bar for? I've never found it useful.
