Till yesterday I used archiveror add-on which does the same job but requires 2 clicks. This one is better as it does the job in single click. Also, I prefer this website over all others including wayback, as it provides the url instantaneously and the length of url is short as well. Recently I found out that archive.is can be used as an workaround to read articles behind paywall/registration like NYT and washington post, I don't know how this works but it's like magic!!
Great job by the developers of the website and addon.
My only suggestion is to include an option to open the archive tab in background like in archiveor addon.
Also, I am greedy and I want more !! - please make a simple android app just like this, which can be used by clicking on share button on any app e.g. for twitter app: click share button > share tweet via > choose archive app icon > redirects to default browser with url just like this add-on > https : // archive . today/?run=1&url=
Edit - Developer has responded so promptly and clarified that this feature already exists! 10/10Respuesta del desarrollador

2. The companion Android app is Share2Archive, available in Google Play. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por worst, hace 5 añosSo it would seem I'm the second user to install this add-on and the first user to review it. How exciting!
The current behavior when you click the icon is to check whether the page is archived, and if so it sends you to the most recent snapshot. If not, a snapshot is automatically taken of the page. This is pretty foolproof as archive.today already asks if you want to take a new snapshot if a snapshot exists and is older than 5 minutes, so there's no need to include a separate snapshot button.
The one thing I would change is to include an option in the settings to disable automatic submission for snapshots on click, as I can imagine a webdev or some similar case where a page that shouldn't have been uploaded ends up archived accidentally via misclick or whatever.
Keep up the great work John!Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 5 añosThank you. I'm trying to keep this simple and foolproof for regular users, so I'm reluctant to do anything that might make it more complicated, and I don't think there's much extra load from mistakes, but if you give me more details of what you have in mind, I'll give it serious consideration. Thanks again.
