This extension is nothing short of revolutionary for heavy browser users like me. As someone who regularly juggles dozens, sometimes hundreds, of tabs across multiple Firefox windows, I've experienced firsthand the strain this puts on system resources. With only 16GB of RAM on my Mac, I often found myself teetering on the edge of 80-90% memory usage, a situation that even dedicated memory cleaning apps struggled to alleviate for more than a few seconds

Unbelievable Performance
Auto Tab Discard is on a whole different level than other tab management solutions I've tried.

• Dramatic Memory Reduction: With around 50 tabs open, the extension's impact was immediately noticeable. However, the true test came when I pushed it to the limit

• Handling Hundreds of Tabs: Upon opening hundreds of tabs across several Firefox windows, my system's memory usage skyrocketed to 90%. Activating Auto Tab Discard resulted in an astonishing drop to 53% memory usage - a level that remained stable!! What?!

• Consistent Performance: Even after adding another 80 tabs in a new window and starting a YouTube video, the extension managed to keep memory usage hovering around 50%.

In my opinion, if you are a power user and struggle with browser & memory issues from having tons of tabs open, this extension’s ability to dramatically reduce memory consumption while maintaining a smooth browsing experience will shock you. At least, it has shocked me. It has fundamentally changed how I manage my browser workflow, allowing me to keep numerous tabs open without sacrificing system performance. Frankly, I’m gobsmacked.

Absolutely fantastic addon. I'm a tab hoarder and this cut my ram usage from 45GB down to 20GB! Very impressed!

This add-on works very well for improving performance, is easy to use, and has lots of customization options. However, one feature that it's sorely missing is the ability to view a tab or bring a tab into focus without un-discarding it. This is a major issue for me because I scroll through tabs to navigate my browser, so I end up loading a bunch of tabs I don't want to load. If there was an option to only un-discard a tab when I click in the tab instead of when I open it, this would be perfect.

1. Значок 💤 отнимает полезное пространство и не так хорошо сигнализирует как если бы сама иконка сайта становилась серой, как в The Marvellous Suspender, например. Иногда возникает путаница если 💤 эмодзи присутствует в названии сайта.
2. Скорость загрузки выгруженного сайта занимает много немного больше времени, чем ожидаешь и этим раздражает.
3. Большая нагрузка при выгрузке и попытках выгрузки сайтов расширением. С включением данного расширения появляются периодические подвисания системы.

Great add-on, why is this not integrated into Firefox directly? Pretty sure Chrome is good at suspending tabs intelligently, but FF lately has been hogging CPU on certain idle sites, just freeze their DOM & JS execution.

Great idea, but didn't work for what I wanted it to do (Stop nazibook from refreshing when I didn't tell it to) and the settings menu wasn't exactly clear

Extremely customizable, convenient, and does exactly what you want it to and more. A great extension for saving battery and memory whilst retaining any information you have on these pages and won't put tabs to sleep that have important information on them. Great extension.
